Tour V2 or 1500

I know this question has been brought up many times and it must be getting tiring but I cant seem to find any comparison between the Tour V2 and the 1500 rangefinders. I was at a local pro shop and was moments away from picking up the Tour V2 but from what I've read so far on the boards, the 1500 is a serious consideration. Has anyone on here had personal observations with the 2? TIA

I have a Bushnell Scout 1000, it's the exact same as a Tour V2. They call the technology different terms with the golf and hunting model though. I really like it, fast, small, accurate. The only difference between the V2 and 1500 is the zoom. 1500's do 7x and V2's (Scouts) do 5x.

Does the Scout 1000 have something similar to the Pinseeker? Because they look the same on Ebay, other than the price of course. The V2 is being sold for $50 - $100 more.

Just so I am clear, the Scout and V2 are the same. So if I was looking at the V2, go ahead and buy the Scout and I will be equally happy with the purchase?

That's exactly whati did. They are the same unit, Bushnell just calls the technology different terms, and charges different prices.

thanks for the response guys. based of the overwhelming praise and threads dedicated to the 1500 TE, i've decided to go that route. Figured the 7X magnification would be useful to check out the cart girl. HAHA. cant wait to test it out at the next tournament!

If you want to save a few bucks and still want a 1500 get the Elite 1500. It is the hunting version of the 1500 TE. Same unit, different name. I just got mine yesterday and love it! I ordered it from Amazon.com and paid $316 for it. When you do a search for 'Bushnell elite 1500' you will get several units with different prices. Just look for the one that has no price listed. It says click here for price. Should be 315.95.

I just ordered the Scout 1000 from Walmart.com for $220.00.

Add in tax and delivery the unit is $242.00

Less the Bushnell rebate of $50.00

Total cost to me = $192.00

I think that is about as good as I am going to do.

Rebate????? What Rebate???? I just bought mine at Bass Pro. They matched the 209.97 price from

Walmart online!!! What's up with the rebate?????

I just purchased the Scout 1000 from Bass Pro Shop by having them price match walmart.com @ 209.97. My total was 229.39-50.00 rebate for a total of 179.39. Not bad at all. It really does seem to work well. I will try it out monday in a tournament.

I know you'll be pleased buying a unit with 7x magnification. I have never used a 4x or 5x unit, but I'll tell you something. After using my 1500TE for about a year, I would not want to have less magnification. Even with 7x magnification, that pin looks pretty small when you are 180+ yards away. Plus, if you can afford $350 for a V2 then you can spring $400 for the 1500TE. I would get a lower magnication only if I had some experience using it and had no trouble picking up the flags.

woot! finally received my 1500 TE! i must say, this thing is alot smaller than i had imagined and fits pretty nice in the palm of my hands. just a quick and dumb question, how do you turn off the range finder? does it automatically turn off after a few seconds?
