Diamana Blueboard vs. Aldila VS Proto

All other things being equal...

Quick question folks: How do these two shafts compare to each other? Specifically, the Aldila Proto 60-s vs. the Diamana Blueboard S-63, both in a stiff flex. I play the Aldila Proto 60-s right now and I'm thinking about going to the Blueboard. Yes, I'm going to hit both, but I'd just like to get an idea for what characteristics I should be looking for. How do they stack up in stiffness? Trajectory? Distance-wise? Spin? Plan on using an FT-5 head.

Characteristics for each:

Aldila Proto VS 60-s: Torque 3.2g; Launch Low-Mid; Weight 63g
Diamana BB S63: Torque: 3.6g; Kickpoint Mid-High; Weight 63g

VS proto is a good shaft for the right person. Geoff Ogilvy loved his until the Voodoo came out.

 

However, the Diamana BB is one of the finest made shafts I have ever ran across. Better quality control at Mitsu than at Aldila (IMO)

 

Different shafts, both very respectable shafts.

I´m not a big shaft guy, but I´ve much better results with a high kickpoint shaft like the BB. It depends on your swing, but the VS

tends to baloon. PS the VS tour has another bend profile like the retail.

Well that sux for me! I just bought the VS Proto 65-S because my fuji on my TM Burner balloons like a b*tch.

I have the Blueboard 73S in my driver and VS Proto 80S in my woods. I like them both, I'm actually surprised how good the VS Proto feels and performs. I noticed that the VS proto balloons a little bit, but I don't mind, I actually like that in a fairway wood. The Blueboard feels a little more "kickier" to me and it launches medium with a flatter trajectory.

 

Both awesome shafts.

Thanks all. Decided to give the BB a try in the new i-Mix I picked up. Just have to carefully hide that receipt though.
