Too much spin

I just picked up a 9.5 Burner Tour TP with whiteboard in a stiff. I was getting to much spin off the driver with last yrs TP Red.
Has anybody else experienced this issue. I heard it was the low launch, low spin shaft choice.

This is absolutely one of the lowest spin combos out there right now.

 

On a Trackman, I went from 3800-4000 rpms of spin with the Tour Burner TP/Rombax 75 to 2100-2300 rpms of spin with the Tour Burner TP/Whiteboard 65 combo.

 

It's THAT low spin. That combo is low launch and low spin. Something else is the issue.... just must be.

The Biggest differerence between the Burner TP and the Tour Burner TP is not necessarily the head....but the low spin shaft choiced they put in.

 

I dropped in an Ozik F7M2 LTD in my Burner TP and also the same shaft in a Tour Burner TP and they perform almost identically.... so for me this concludes the difference from past years to this new TM driver is the shaft..... not necessarily the head.

 

Personally, I like the look of the Burner TP... and am not very fond of the look of the new Tour Burner.... so I'm very glad my testing proved the shaft is the biggest difference.

My current gamer is a ft 5 LCG N 9.5 with a whiteboard 73 S done by Joe, I belive it is tipped 1/4. I do not even come close to a ballon flight with this driver.

I have to agree with you.

 

I had the chance this week to hit a Tour Burner TP 9.5 w/ the stock Diamana WB in stiff and was surprised how high I could actually hit it. I was making solid contact with every shot about 20-25 balls and the club really had a nice balanced feel to it.

 

I am sure in my case some of the spin can be attributed to using Srixon range balls and I wanted to get it out on the course and try it with my TP Red LDP ball. However, I just got a chance to swing a FT-i LCG 9.5 with the stock X-CON 6 shaft and don't think I am interested in the Tour Burner as much now.

The cally is deep, but I can control the TBTP better. Maybe it is the increased spin that is making it easier to control.

Stick with the combo, the only things I think of are..

Maybe an X flex? Even soft step it but this is an expensive fix.

Last years Taylor Made ball is different. and TP red is the Spin ball, try the black.

 

Other balls that KILL SPIN:

Bridgestone E-6+ very very long ball, but has NO snip at all chippign around greens unless you have razor blade edges on your grooves.

 

Bridgestone B330-S is a great ball, about 4-9 yards shorter off the tee, but a great overall ball. Plays like a Pro V1X, but slightly differetn feel
