I have the PING G5 22* and love it. In fact I am going to add the 19* here in a few weeks. Here is a link to a few reviews of the G5.

The only other hybrid I spent any real time with was the TM, but it was the Rescue Mid not the Dual. IMO the PING is a better club. It is just fun to hit. Good luck trying them out, that is half of the fun.....

When I went to test out hybrids last spring, I made sure I tested whatever I got my hands on. I tested the TM rescue, Cobra Baffler, Nickent 3DX, Cleveland Halo, Callaway heavenwood, and a few others. But, time after time, the one that kept performing the best was the Halo, and I'm not saying that because I'm a Cleveland ho. The feel is excelent when the ball meets the clubface, and the sound is perfect. the shots fly high and long, with no ballooning, but suffient spin to stop where it lands on the green. At address, the club is just begging to be hit, and isn't as bulky looking as other hybrids because of the scooped out crown. Glids through the rough due to it's lower face and sole design. I have two, a 22* that I bought and a 19* I won from the Golf Channel. 22* flies in the area of about 205 yards, and the 19* I still need to play with. But, let me tell you this: My handicap dropped a ton this year due to the fact that I was hitting the ball up to or close to the green on par 5s. This put me in great positions for so many birdies, I can't even count. These are also perfect for those tight driving holes.

Like any other piece of golf equipment, test before you buy, and find what's right for you.

The ping is almost a carbon copy of the cleveland. Why go for second best. I have hit them both and the cleveland has a better feel and sets up a little better

I've only played the Halo and the Heavenwood and as you can see below I'm a Halo fan. I bought the 16 to replace my 3 wood because the 19 was so good for me. I played several round with the Heavenwood and my only complaint with that club was a really light feeling head, I loved it on the driving range but on the course I hit a bunch of pushes with it.

Add me to the list of Halo fans. I'm a 20 handicapper just getting

back into golf after a 10 yr layoff.

I have not done a lot of comparisons here, but have been using the 19* and 22*

Halo's for about a month. I couldn't be happier, easy to hit, the ball jumps off the club,

and I have been able to work it when necessary.

I am actually hitting the 19* longer than a 5 wood. I'd replace my 3 wood too

if Cleveland made the 16* for lefties.

Well, I know this wasn't on your list but, I really love my Mizuno Fli-Hi CLK. I have had a hard time hitting hybrids and this one I can easily knock out there 215 yrds or so.(20*) All this club wants to do is go straight.

Also, check out the Mizuno Black Ni wedges. Great performers.

thanks brian, will take that into consideration......i also see in your sig that you have a set of mizzy 23s........how do you like them?

Fantastic irons. Great feel and feedback. The feedback is one of the things i like best about them. I now can strike the ball and tell you exactly where I hit it on the face without looking. They are also great short game clubs. I usually use a sand or lob wedge for chips because I wasn't comfortable with my old sets 7,8,9 irons. The Mizzy's however are so easy to use. By the way, the Fli-Hi is great for chipping as well.

Good luck and have fun testing them out!

I've played the TM Mid Rescue, Adams Iwood, Callaway Heavenwood, Ping G5 and the Cleveland Halo. I've been disappointed by all of them, but I would rank the halo as the most solid feeling.

I may be someone who just doesn't fit into the hybrid craze. I want to find one I like, but so far no luck. I think a 5 wood or 7 wood are frankly more versatile.

Driver:  Ping G430 LST 10.5*

3 Wood: TM Stealth2 16.5*;  7 Wood: TM Stealth2 21*

Irons:  Titleist T200 5 -PW & Gap

SW:  Titleist SM9 56*

Putter:  TM Spyder Tour X

Ive played the Halo, LDI , heavenwood, rescue mid, rescue dual, dual tp, fli high, and the dh6 by wilson. Out of that lot id have to say the best feeling one was the Wilson.

All the wood shaped hybrids ( with exeption to the TP ) went ski high for me. The TP felt really solid and kept the ball relatively low.

The iron shaped hybrids are all great for me. Nice flight and easier to get up than the 2 iron.

Ive taken out the 2 iron and now swap between the Cleveland LDI 18* and the Rescue Dual TP 16*, depending on course and conditions

The hybrids listed in this thread are all pretty good. Like most other clubs, the hybrid does boil down to how it performs for you. I had a TM Rescue Mid last year with steel shaft. Finally decided to scrap the steel shaft, so I picked up an Adams I Wood. It's pretty forgiving, but it does tend to go left a little. One other club you might want to try is the Ben Hogan Edge CFT.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
