how good is the Callaway tour blue tt3?

inexpensive fastback option?
after seeing the finished TT1 that Hougz79 did I began hunting around and noticed the uncanny similarity between the tour blue tt3 and Scotty Cameron's Newport Fastback. has/does anyone play with the tt3? how good of a putter is it? If you do what Hougz79 did to his tt1 it's possible that this putter could be the poor man's fastback.

its a great putter to start with

Agreed. Despite now being available for a song, the Callaway TT-series were and are a premium putter. I'm sure the blue was a turnoff to some (unique, but the finish was less than durable, and the novelty of the blue might wear thin for some), and the swingweight was a little light (compounded by the relatively heavy grip), but a bead-blast and a grip switch would fix those problems easily. Feel might be a problem for some, but I'm a big fan of titanium putters. I've only rolled the Callaways in the store, but own a JAS Anser (and have a JAS Tess coming) and absolutely love the feel. Very distinct sound/feedback.

can you provide any comments/opinions on the comparison between the Ping Jas Anser and the Callaway Tour Blue TT1 ??

Thanks in advance for you reply !

If anyone else has some experience with these, please chime in as well.

This is going off of memory from a couple strokes in the golf shop with the Callaway versus 2 years with the JAS Anser, and taking into account that I'm a lefty who was swinging a righty putter, but:

I liked the lines on the TT1 better, just a little softer, more rolled bumpers, and a less mechanical look. This is personal preference, but the only thing I don't like about the JAS is that it looks like the current breed of Ping Ansers that started with the G2. I'm just not a fan of what pinggolf.com listed as the "simplified lines" from when the various putter lines were reworked across the board.

But, I didn't like the face milling on the Callaway lines even more. Softened up the feel a bit more than I liked, but I like a firmer feeling putter that provides more feedback. And the Ping head has got to be markedly heavier...though I'd love to see if someone can pull a TT head to confirm. Could be that I was just feeling off from putting backwards, but as I'm used to sampling righty putters to purchase lefty, I don't think so.

Not sure if this is what you were looking for, feel free to ask for any clarification, though I'm sure a response from someone who has owned both would be more beneficial.

That is EXACTLY what I was looking for ... a straight-forward and honest opinion.

Since I can't find a nice JAS Anser W Ti for less than $150 so that I could make the comparison myself, I am interested in the experiences of others... thanks for sharing yours.

I have played both putters. Like mentioned above the Callaway is definitley softer face, almost feels mushy to me. I love the way that the Ping sounds, a very solid sound(thats why I still game it). I seem roll the ball better with the ping due to the feel of the face.

Either way they are both great putters

I have used the TT1 since it came out just over a few years ago. I love it. I feel that it is the most well balanced putter weight wise, and the ball rolls pure. I used to own a PING Answer, Ping Isopur, all in the similar TT1 style. I spent a lot on the Tour Blue but I still love it and the finish on the club is still in very good condition. Ive been happy with it! To each their own on putters but this putter has a great feel in my opinion.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
