Help me pick the right shaft

Hey Guys - -

This forum has done a good job giving advice to others about possible shaft options, so I'd like to give you some info about my swing. I am a 1 handicap with a pretty sound swing. My swing speed is 112-115, ball speed is 165, and I average about 275 off the tee. My tempo is not overly fast, but on the quicker side. My max deflect is 4.6, downswing time is 0.44, deflection location is 74, and my load speed is 110.3. (according to shaft lab). My past 5 drivers were as follows:

510tp 9.0 757 X-Stiff (too boardy)

r7 9.5 diamana X-stiff (too boardy)

Ping G2 8.5 Graffaloy Blue Stiff (Sheer hell trying to get it to unload)

Cally FT-3 9.5 ys-6 stiff (closer, but the shaft didn't quite catch up)

905T 10.5 ys-6 stiff (the closest so far, but the shaft seems too loose)

My spin rate with the first three drivers were under 2300 rpms, and my spin with the last two have been about 3000 rpms. My launch angle with the Titleist was about 13*, and that seemed about right. The launch angle with the first four were between 10.5 and 11.5.

I live above 5000 feet in elevation, and am looking for a high launch/ low spin combo. Please give me your suggestions for a bore through head (Titleist) shaft. Also, do any of you have any experience with the Fujikura Tour Platform 27.3? That will be my next guess in a shaft unless I hear something different. I keep looking, because I know I haven't found a shaft that feels just right. Its hard because I'm a lefty and I don't get to try as much stuff as most of you guys. Anyway, thanks in advance!

Hey no one's helping a brother out so I'll give it a shot.

Looks like you come through the ball pretty level and have perhaps a smoother swing than you think. The YS6 S is pretty soft...plays to a hard regular...I got about 5 of them lying around from Titleist 983's. I don't particularly like the Tour Platforms....up to their liimit they are fine but a bit of overloading, all hell breaks loose. You are on the right track however...alittle more torque and alittle softer tip seems what your swing prefers. So I would suggest based on the info you gave:

Accra Tour 70 M4 (less $)

Accra SC65 M4 (mo' $)

SC is lower torque and plays a bit tighter. I'd install it to mimic a standard bore....going full into a borethru kills their lively feel. The exact flex and install will depend on how you want the tip to react and the clubspecs (swingweight/length in particular).

As far as softer tip, luxo feeling shafts go, Accras are the best I've found. I'm biased yeah but I back it up with my own clubs. I have in my pile of shafts 757's, 657, 652, NVS, 660TR, 693TR and they will be sold off....fun to try but didnt' quite make the cut.

Other options: NVS75, Accuflex Assassin II, Fuji 652 or 661

Hope this helps. Joe K is an Accra dealer and is the man around here. Good luck.

Proforce V2 is a highest launch lowest spin shaft i tried. the 65 should work well if you find blue to be a board, you can tipped 1/2 inch if you want to firm it up a bit or you ahve quick tempo, for avg tempo dont tip it. the 75 is a board like the blue.

accra t70 is similar to V2 . only that its so called better raw materials.

edit, another one that i heard but not tried. Graman UL540.

If you want some head really low spin and high launch.. try redline ...460 D...

another one . Ping G5.
