Which I-Mix shaft? Please offer advice!

Will try to make a long story short...

 

16 year old son, nationally ranked junior, plus index, pretty quick tempo, agressive transition, rotary, body-driven swing. 112-114 mph swing speed. 5'11". 160#.

 

Was out of town playing national junior event. Cracked driver. The only thing immediately available with what we thought was a stout enough shaft was the I-Mix so I sprung for a 9.5* FT-i LCG with a 73g X-flex Whiteboard (the only X they had) which he hit very well on the monitor.

 

Here is the "problem". It is very accurate but has lost 10-15 yards. Probably a bit too much shaft for him. I imagine he will grow into it but there may be better options for now. Lots of I-mix options available to order but really only a few in X flex available (see attached). Am intrigued by Ozik X-con 6. He used to use a 757 in stiff when he was a bit younger (never hit one in X). Maybe the Blueboard? Can't find anyplace to actually try them

ALDILA DVS is a SUPER Shaft. I had the Blue Board in my lcg i mix head and just changed.

Thanks! Do you have the 60 or 80 gram version?Can you describe the way it performs? I see you are a Callaway fitter....you think this would be a good choice for the player I described?

That swingsspeed is plenty fast enough to handle an x shaft. The whiteboard is supposed to be one of the best shafts out there. I play the Ozik x con 6 in a strong flex,,,,, supposed to be almost exactly characteristics of the whiteboard. I could not find a whiteboard as I was in a hurry for the shaft, so I went with OZIK and love it. Really depends on his ball flight and spin rate as to which shaft would perform best but I would definately say an x flex or maybe a strong ozik tipped.

Yes, I agree he needsd an X flex but from my observation and what I've read that the Whiteboard is a VERY stout shaft which launches low with very low spin. The FT-I LCG is also a very low spin head. I don't think he is keeping it in the air long enough to maximize his distance. I think in another year it may be perfect but thought something else may be better for now....

You could very well be right,,,,, I was told when I got the OZIK that the diamana white board was high lauch low spin,,, and blueboard was mid launch. I am sure someone can elaborate on this.
