Graphite Design YS-6+

Hi All,

 

I was looking to put this shaft in my TM R7 st Fairway wood. Probably at 42.5 length. My driver SS has been measured consistently at 99-100. If I really try to smooth it out then I can swing at 96 or so. I was wondering if this shaft in stiff flex would work with my swing speed. I have heard such good things and know a guy that wants to sell me one for cheap.

 

I previously only hit the YS-7+ in stiff which I liked, but it felt like I had to go after it a lot more for the best results. I hit it great when I did but the ball lfight was a tad too low with about 30%-40% of my shots.

 

Does anyone play this shaft with a SS close to mine?

I play this shaft in a 904F 3 wood, and i really like it, i've had it for quite a while now. BUT, i feel with this shaft you have to hit it a little harder for best results and most of all you need to be swinging well, it's not for the swing types that like to sweep the ball off the ground. The ball flight is mainly low with it because the tip is quite stiff, but i still love mine, due to it having such a solid feel.

I have a YS-6+ REGULAR in my Titleist hybrid and it's ridiculously long. I can seriously hit it 220 consistently with little effort. It's really made my 4+ wood redundant. My driver swing tops out at 100.

I play to a 13.0 so I don't always put the best swings on it. I tend to be right in between a sweeper and a digger with my FW woods. I take a tiny divot when I am swinging well.

 

I like what HipCHeck says about the Regular flex shaft. I have no ego when it comes to shaft flex. I'll try whatever works best.

i use the ys6 in x but my swing speed is around 118.

I know plenty of people with ss similar to yours that love this shaft.

Quite a soft shaft so many people tend to play with a shaft that would normally be deemed slightly stiff for them.

Just as an FYI, I chose the YS-6+ Regular because

1. I've played the previous version before (stiff) with success
   
2. It was available
   
3. PT hybrids have a lower trajectory than I'd like, so I figured the softer shaft would help elevate the ball
   
4. I killed the thing

Have the GD in my: 3w 15* & 5w 18* - Titleist 906F2, YS+6 Rflex

Best 3 wood I ever hit. It's probably combo of head and shaft, but I would recommend the shaft, my Driver SS is 92 -94.

I just changed from the YS6+ to the YS7+ in my Titleist 906F4 3wood. I played a round today and absolutley loved it. The YS6+ was easy to swing but if I hit down on it it felt too soft. The YS7+ feels much more solid, yet I can still feel it flexing in the tip on my practice swings. I think it's the kind of shaft you could hit easy or hard. And the 78 grams to me makes more sense for a 3 wood. FYI, my swing speed is around 98-100 mph
