Need advice on shafts

Hey all,

 

Having trouble, im getting really high ball flight with my Irons and with all my clubs im struggling to not pull left/hook.

 

My Divots are going straight but im getting alot of draw spin i think, im trying to work out if i need stiffer shafts?

 

hitting my 7i 170-180, PW 155-150. Now i can go further, but its a real struggle not to have the ball go left, even with a straight divot.

 

Currently playing with MP57's with S300 shafts. Last time i had my SS down on my irons there where 95MPH. I reckon im at 100 now, when i wind up looking 105MPH

 

Driver is 115-125MPH

 

Sometimes i hold the face open and still get a draw!

I agree with the guy above, X100 at least. Definitely stiffer than S300 would be good. Possibly Project X shafts in a 6.5.

 

If you slow your swing down, does it go straight?

Thanks for the replies, yes it does goes straighter.

 

Distance wise, say my normall swing goes 150 yard with the PW. If i increase my swing speed the ball will go maybe 1-4 yards further but the ball will go much much higher.

 

Same with the other irons, faster i swing the higher it goes with very little increase in distance

 

Forgot to mention the reason why i ask is because alot of people ask "How do you hit it so high" and its often windy in Wales so the ball gets effected alot, and when i try and keep a nice draw its hard not to put too much spin on it

I actually just spoke with a customer who had very similar problems. His swing speed is right about where yours is at and when he took a nice smooth swing it was straight as an arrow with a little draw. When he tried to rip it, the ball was a lot more erratic. My prognosis was that when he does swing that extra strong swing the shaft bends too much for him hence causing an inconsistent ball flight to a pull because he closed down the face to much. The advice i gave him was to either keep that smooth swing and if he needed to hit it further just club up a little. Or if he wanted to have the option to swing hard then I suggested he either tipped his irons a little bit or move to x100's, and to also make sure he keeps his hands ahead of his clubhead.

 

For you I think either would work in your situation. Just my 2 cents
