ProV1x vs. the OLD B330

i just fell into a bunch of the old B330, not the new 4 piece.

as a long time ProV1x user, what kind of differences should i expect, if any?

or, hopefully, are they pretty similar for the most part?

fyi, my swing speed is a smidge over 110, but unfortunately tends to get bit faster in my lesser moments.

Virtually the same ball. You should notice a slighter higher launch and trajectory apex, as well as a slightly softer feel.

In all honesty though, these balls are nearly identical in all the categories that matter. (spin, launch angle, and ball velocity)

In my personal opinion however, I think the Bridgestone ball is better than the Pro V1 X. It has all the same launch characteristics as the Pro V, but it is a seamless ball, so its flight pattern and trajectory dispersion will be much tighter than the Titleist ball. (though you will probably not notice this unless you are an accomplished golfer)

Hope this helps!

thank you much. my major worry was that it would NOT have a softer feel than either of the ProV's. good to hear that the jury is at least still out on that. hopefully i'll like them and they wont go to waste.

in my experience, B330 has a much harder feel off all clubs including being much "clickier" of wedges and putter (terrible on a non-insert putter IMO). it also has considerably less greenside spin/control than the V1x.

B330 is a little longer off the tee with a slightly lower trajectory. mid-short irons have lower traj and less spin as well.

so essentially, my experience is completely opposite to jman's above.

I was about to say the same thing as drpino, ive been playing the V1x's for about a year and just got a couple boxes of the old 330's on clearance....

my experience between the two is i just cant stop the 330's on any type of green, hard or soft.... but than again i'm not that accomplished of a golfer... only tried them for 2 rounds so far though but to me they are not the same ball at all...

the played about the same for me.. the bridgestone was a bit longer off the tee but less responsive around the greens. the major difference for me was feel: the bridgestone definately feels firmer around the exterior and is clickier with all clubs, especially the putter. if you don't mind that clickiness, the b330 is an awesome ball.

B330 is definitely a firmer ball. felt great off irons but horrible off woods and hybrids; especially hybrids. felt like a crappy range ball on the hybrids. the firmness actually didnt bother me too much around the greens. not a lot of spin but decent enough for chips. flew extremely straight on the irons with a nice mid-trajectory. i definitely wont be switching from the ProV1x but somewhere in between is the perfect ball for me. if anyone knows what it is, you know where to find me.

If y'all can't spin a B330 you don't have the skill and/or clubhead speed. The 2008 model spun nearly as much as NOP for me, got tired of watching a shot spin back 10-15 feet. The 330 is designed for players who swing 112+, which I'm sure everyone here surpasses by a large margin :clapping:

Funny thing I notice playing with peeps is that I can always tell Pro V players by their short games, for most part they try to flop everything to the hole cuz they can't control the spin consistently enough.

'08 Nike One Black is a nice middle ground between the B330 and V1x.

your comment doesn't really add anything to the discussion but rather shows how you like to flex your e-muscles :birthday:
