Retail Scotty Camerons - my take on them

When (just a matter of time) Tiger switches from his Newport 2 to a Nike putter the Cameron market could collapse.

And Titleist couldn't sell golf balls after Tiger switched to Nike...

 

 

Golf ball comparison is irrevelent. There is no question, Camerons are what they are today in part due to Tiger's success. I've never heard the argument that Titleist wouldnt sell balls after Tiger went to Nike. Anyone would be foolish to think the Cameron market would sustain itself if Tiger switches, same nonsense that drives GOOG predictons to $1000/share.

 

I respectfully disagree that the Cameron market will not sustain itself if/when Tiger switches. Most of the people willing to pay big $$$ for tour issue or collectible Cameron items have no loyalty to Tiger. Said people believe that Scotty makes the best looking, feeling, performing putter...period. I will agree that Tiger helped put Scotty in the limelight with his Masters victory in 1997. That said, the Scotty train is moving way too fast with way too many passengers. It won't be stopped.

 

I guess I'm foolish because I could care less what Tiger plays. When you get a chance, go to www.cameroncollector.com if you haven't done so already. See how many Tiger Woods references you see over there (other than B/S/T items bearing his name). Very few if any true Cameron fans and collectors buy/use his products because Tiger putts with one.

 

Its not just golfball comparison last time i checked tiget used to play titleist clubs and i tihnk titleist is still around. And no i dont think Davis Love the III, Brad FAxon, Adam SCott, Earnie Els, Tom Kite, the list goes on could sustain cameron lol. Do you have any idea how ridiculous what u just said sounds.

 

This week on scottycameron.com had Tiger's putter on front page, its no accident.

I've tried a Scotty circle T putter, and in all honesty I could not feel the difference from my retail Scotty putters.

 

I love my 4 Scotty retail putters - but I also own a YES! Callie, Odyssey White Steel #1, Rossa Daytona, NC Milled #1, Rossa Monza Corza, Rossa Mezza Monza, Rossa Monza and Ping Anser putter.

 

The craft manship of the Scotty retail putters just feel that bit more pefect than in other retail putters.

The feel of quality when holding a Scotty putters is what makes the Scotty putters more exclusive and elegant to me. Whether one will putt better with a Scotty putter or not - one can't argue that Scotty Cameron putters just have that extra touch of class to them - retail or tour.

 

If you don't feel the price of the Scotty putters are fair, then don't buy them.

A lot of people don't think RETAIL Ralph Lauren and Armani is better quality than RETAIL Van Gils, but to me the craftman ship and detail of Ralph Lauren and Armani makes them worth the extra price.

A lot of people don't think Audi and BMW makes better RETAIL cars than other less expensive brand of cars - then don't buy Audi. I think Audi has that extra touch of class to them - better design, better engines - but I agree, the brand itself also makes the car more expensive.
