I ordered a 9.5*TP425 with the 75 shaft two weeks ago. It should be in this week. We will see if it is good enough to knock the 9.5*TP with Speeder 757 out of the bag. I love the R7's. Some people love it or hate it but for me it is the best driver I have ever it. On Friday I demoed the Nike SQ and the Mizuno MX500. Neither one of these did I care for. I measured 5 drives with each club and the R7 was at least 20 yards better. A lot of that was the shaft I have in my R7 vs. the stock shafts in the Nike and Mizun, how much difference, I have no clue but the stock shafs in the Nike and the Mizuno stunk.

 

I hope the R7TP 425 is the winner considering I paid $700 bucks for it.

Hot Melt just means the head had a type of "rat glue" applied inside to dull the sound and add internal weight biasness.

The Tour Issue 425's I've seen had a small hole in the bottom of the hosel

for this to be done if desired.. . None of these were hot melted yet-or they

would have already been plugged.

Hope the "va ca" has been good. Just got my 8.5* Tour r7 425 on Friday and it's awesome. Mine has the 55 gram shaft in "X" which is similar to the SIX's I play. I'll give you a shout on the cell sometime tomorrow.

 

PS: sent a sample to C. Stetler so it should be at the office

I unfortunately do not have a r7 425 TOUR at this time (duh...whats up with that!) but I have been playing pretty well with my r7 425 TP retail 9.5 with Rombax 65 s shaft. The face feels more explosive than the orig r7......

 

So should I get a tour issued one boys??

Why? Sounds like what you have works well. The only reason I was after a tour was to get a more open face angle. Which by the way really makes me ;) . I can't stand having to pay the tour premium for something like that. On top of that face angle is hit and miss. Just because it's got a Txxxxx does not gaurantee anything. TM if you're reading this, let those of us that want it custom order face angle. PLEASE.

 

Reax is std regardless of tour or production

 

Tour is COR tested to make sure it passses but does anyone really care.

 

Tour might have a little hot melt that makes it sound more solid but any decent club maker can do that for you or just put rubber washers on the 2g screws.
