Driver help needed EVERYONE help

Hi everyone.

 

I am based in the uk (south) and have really not found anyone who has a trackman that is based on an outside driving range. I am really struggling with my flight and need YOUR opinions and findings on low spinning driver heads.

 

My brief stats incase anyone has some helpful suggestions:

 

Professional on mini tours

h'cap at my club +3.9 (only counts at my club due to pro status)

av ball speed 158mph

av swing speed 106mph

av smash factor with driver 1.496

av caryy distance 260yds

av drive 279yds

 

My problem is everytime i get a driver fit indoors, i take it out and spin rates take distance from me, almost like no second half of flight.

Recent drivers:

Adams BTY tour issue 9.5 x stiff Ozik TP7

Titleist D2 10.5 v2 x stiff 75g

Nike sumo2 11.5 accura stiff

Titleist 9o5 r 8.5 diamana whiteboard x stiff.

 

There is no issues with the swing etc or ball striking, i use a 1 plane swing. My ideal would be a lower flight something like Garcia etc.

 

Does anyone know if the Hibores are low spinning.

yes, try a hibore xl tour, you should be able to get one really cheap that comes with the grafalloy blue tour shaft in it, i personally garantee this thing will solve that problem

HiBore XL Tour are low spin heads. J33, Hyper X are other options.

i had a hibore xl tour 8.5* with the grafaloy tour blue x flex, i found it to be a fairly mid launch, but with a flat penetrating ballflight, there basically was no upturn in the ball flight, almost like i threw a dart down the fairway, i did feel like i had to put almost everything i had into it though, and im about 6'2 230 swinging about 115 ss or so, but when i put a good swing on it it launched mid trajectory and just had no upturn at all

 

i wish i never got rid of it, i miss hitting that thing

Thanks. Just made a purchase on flea bay of 8.5 XL tour with aldila nvs x stiff shaft (will change this) to see if you sugestions help.

 

Will post back in a few days with a mini report to see how it plays.

You need to try the Ping Rapture V2 with the diamana blue. You and I have the same driver numbers. I use a launch monitor at my facility and was very surprised when I got the new raptures in. This driver is very hot!

Try a Titleist 909 D3.

 

I had been using a 907D2, 10.5, Aldila DVS 60 S for a year.

 

Got a 909 D3 with same shaft, about 500-900 rpm's lower, picked up 15 yards carry, another 10 roll.

 

I have hit both on a Trackman here in Atlanta.

25 Yards by switching heads??? hmmmmm........... I thought that only Taylor Made was able to make that claim.

158 ball speed divided by the 106 club speed is 1.490566 smash factor. Theoretical SF limit is 1.494

 

It would be helpful to see some launch angles and spin numbers so it is curious to me how you have the other numbers.

 

Working backwards I plugged some numbers into my software and get 12 degrees of launch at 3500 rpm as one possible scenario. With the equipment listed, it shows you have no Angle of Attack to speak of. All of your numbers would improve with a few positive degrees of AoA. This will reduce the spin and give you more distance.

Your target spin number with 158 MPH BS should be 2500 rpm. You get more distance with higher launches. Even as high as 17 degrees with 2500 rpm gives you carry of 280+

 

This does not look like a driver/ shaft issue, if my calculations are reasonable. Sorry
