UST Proforce V2 76S

Will it help lessen hooks?
I currently have VS proto 60-S and when I go for it, my hands get too active and easily hooks the ball...I know its kind of a swing problem but it seems that the VS proto exaggerates this and I get snap/duck hooks. If I try to swing smoothly the proto is a good shaft but if I go for it, it seems very unstable...i think i'm more of a hitter than a swinger, so smoothness doesn't come naturally for me haha!

I want to know if the Proforce V2 76S is a more stable shaft than the VS proto 60-s?
Anyone have hook problems and when they used the V2 it miraculously disappeared or lessened?
Or will the V2 produce same results as the proto?

Thanks!

I have used this shaft exclusively for 3 years now and it is the most stable shaft I have encountered and I have tried many - including the "premium" shafts. You will hear a lot about how it is "boardy" and lacks feel. I believe that is more from the 460 heads - although there are "smoother" shafts out there. As for hooks, it might not competely cure them because obviously these are not magic, but I can say that I really do not snap any drives - I draw them a lot, but I used to snap hook a lot of drives with the Aldila NV and some the TM shafts. The V2 is a mid flex shaft but the tip is very stable. The dispersion for me is the best I've had. I had one in a 905R and now a 907D2. The only thing that might change it out is the new V2 AXIV Black. Great shaft for $70

By no means am I an expert but I changed from a NV to a V2 67g in my Cleveland Comp last year. I changed because I wasn't crazy about the feel of the NV, but after putting in the V2 I acquired a nasty snap-hook. That and the feel is a bit boardy, but that didn't bother me much. I have heard that the tip section on the V2 66-67g can be a bit of a noodle which may explain the hoooking, however, the 76-77g version may be a bit better. Just my 2 cents.

Please note: This problem could have been caused by my ugly swing, but rather than fix my swing I bought an anti-hook Hibore XL Tour.

Thanks guys. I have tried the V2 before but only for a round. I think the head was high lofted that's why I didn't pursue it. but what I remember it gave me the longest drive with that head. I think I didn't remember it feeling boardy, the Prolaunch red had that feeling to me, I really have to go for it for the red to respond.

From what I gather from you replies.

1) 76g is definitely more stable than 66g

2) UST is better than aldila

I think I'll give it another try.

Thanks!

any other comments are still welcome!

The pro launch red you tried that felt boardy was it a stiff? I was using a stock stiff shaft in my XLS and getting too much tip action. My club pro suggested I put in a pro launch red pull-out he had in Regular flex. I was a little leary of Regular flex at first but this guy has never steered me wrong so I put it in. Glad I did, it plays much stiffer than regular and has given me the tightest dispersion rate I've ever had.

Rock the 75gr V2 and keep droppin the hammer....  The VS is definitely more "spinny" UNLESS you smooth it.  I do not smooth it much, so Im with you. :)

ebay: 390002665430  , $60 shipped, choose your weight and flex.

If you want smooth rowdyness, try the Axiv Core Proforce, Tour Black or Tour Red.

From a numbers standpoint the v2 76g looks good. But i used one of those shafts in my r7 425, and i have to let you know, there was absolutely noooooo feel. My swing speed is around 105 mph, and I couldnt do anything with the v2 76g stiff. I pulled the shaft and broke it over my knee (true story). I didnt want to sell it and have someone else be dissapointed. If I was giving advice, I would say steer way clear of this shaft as it has no feel whatsoever.

Yeah baby! Rock it and drop the hammer!! I like that! hahaha!!

so yeah, are you saying that the V2 is definitely a stable shaft?

yup I don't smooth it much also.

Thanks.

Thanks for the input. are you a smooth swinger? I'm definitely not.

My buddies always tell me to slow down my backswing smoothen it out...but I can't do it.

everytime I try to do it I can't hit the ball.

I'm definitely not as fast as you are but maybe more aggressive?

I did a sort of "blind fitting" where the fitter just hands me a driver with different shafts and lets me hit and asks me after how it felt after. I was surprised that everything that felt good for me were shafts with "stiffer stiff flexes", one was even in the X-flex

my question was answered today! and the answer is....

YES!!

We'll I played with it first time today and yup it certainly made my snap hooks disappear!

my bad shots were now slightly hooked draws. most of my shots today were straight some were straight pushes, well I think I'd rather have those than a snap hook...I think its easier to fix pushes than snap hooks...I think? hehe

well, I feel better when I get a straight push than a 50 yard hazard duck hook!! hahaha!!

but most of my shots were straight....

Very stable shaft indeed! lots of roll too!

I was surprised with the kick of the V2 I was in areas today where I have not been in a long time! and I think today was a bad swing day...I can't wait to get used to this shaft and get a good swing day...I can only imagine where I am going to end up!

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know, and for those who are still wondering....this is a very stable shaft for hitters or those with quick tempos.
