Thanks peter coys!

End of season october 2014 and what time is it?

YES its HICKORY time but first off the other bits.....

Quite a few changes in numerous directions and approximately 100+ years, picked up a yardage book made by carveon.com who made a certain mr mcilroys amongst others, fabulous service with my clubs logo embedded into the leather. V light but solid, cant recommend them highly enough.

Lol, i have asked myself that a couple of times! But the last few years once the competitive season ends, i always get the persimmon and old irons out, and start to play for the fun of it, but this year bladejunkie here has got the juices going on the hickory front so how could i resist. :) it possibly doesnt do your swing a great deal of good but certainly gives you an appreciation of what they had to contend with. Classic example was the last time i got out with the persimmons and m85 macgregors from about 1979 i shot -5 on the back 9 to shoot 70, then went out with the hickorys about 10 days later and hit two straight tops off the tee with the driver! Mental, but great fun, certainly recommend it :)

Christmas 2014,

Few new additions even if it is the time of hickory and persimmon. Will be doing a golf digest version in due course.

Ok not new but this baby is going to be getting some use this year, been putting really well with when its been in use so far. Machine copper 370grams, with an odyssey grip and a little christmas cheer!

Will be putting this in the sldr as i am finding it has too much spin.opefully. This shaft should be perfect.

I am stunned!! the only way I can describe it besides being jealous. Your presentation of your stuff is fabulous wish I had your talent for the presentation. I got interested when you posted the other night about the White Fang putter and marked to read the whole thing when I had time. I got time this morning and I am amazingly stunned!! Best WITB I have ever seen period!!! BTW it is on my bucket list to come to your country and play some of the "real" courses you have with some of my older stuff. Back to the "roots" of golf. Thanks even though you started this thread before I ever came on WRX it has really been a pick me up this morning on 1/11/15

Lol

Thank you Stu, is it a good thing or not im not sure! I have another two sets of irons winging their way to me, one which i Possibly might be putting into day to day play, need to pick up some kbs shafts and reshaft/alter lie etc. I think you might appreciate them as they are a blast from the past but remodelled and formed into a new age iron. One of my personal all time great looking irons!

The other set are a little special and will go with another recent purchase of mine!

:)

All good!

September 2015

All sorts to report, got lots of little titbits, lots of new hickory and Persimmon, but my main playing hasnt changed a great deal as of yet. Bought Some new Bettinardi wedges, but still find myself using the 53 degree scratch wedge. Also have put a Scotty Cameron Futura X5 putter in the bag, so far so good! So here we go:-

Some amazing stuff , i really enjoyed looking at this post.

I love some of the older gear , i like the idea that you are making up different bags from different times.
[/quote]

Danny, i put together a post regarding equipment from differing decades, will be returning to it again once the season has finished.

Thanks for the comments. Hickory time is nearly here, soon as the club champs finals weekend is over, they will all be out. Including a very nice little Bulldog that I picked up recently.

Since you're from Wales, any recommendation for a good (but not the usual suspect) course in Bangor area? I'm planning to take a short trip to Holyhead, Anglesey, Bangor, and Llandudno/Conwy.

There are four that are stand out imo

I assume the one you are referring to is Royal St Davids?

Otherwise Conwy itself is a great course and Porthmadoc not bad either.

Personally though my favourite purely for the unbelievable views in Nefyn http://www.nefyn-golf-club.co.uk

Had friends who came over from the Us and had played Pebble and they said the. Iews at Nefyn were more spectacular. Make sure you play the peninsula as their is 27 holes. Tell us how you get on.
