I played this course around Labor Day weekend for $49.00. It was in nice shape and alot of fun to play. Its located about 9 miles west of Traverse City.

I have also played this course many times, it is in beautiful countryside and has some pretty sweet elevation changes.

Off the beaten path but well worth the effort

I played here twice last summer. I am from Minnesota but was visiting family. It is a shorter course but is really nice because there aren't a lot of people there. It also feels like a country club too. The course is a bit hilly but you really don't have many hilly holes that you have to play into. The hills are more or less on the tee boxes. I would recommend this course for sure. Traverse City is also awesome. There is another course called Kings Challenge which is south west of there and I liked that one a little more.

 

I still can't believe that someone else played this course and is on this website. Those are some good pictures and I think the back nine is way better then the front. You can easily drive right by this place since the entrance looks like an apple orchard.

 

Anyway I am just laughing because it is freezing cold here and I was just remembering summer time and playing this course with my fiance. Good times.

Brings back great memories of our golf trip there last September. The very first par-3 on the course, I believe it's #4, almost darn near had a Hole in One (3 inches).

 

Other great courses up near Traverse City are: High Pointe, A-Ga-Ming (Torch course and Sundance course), and Dumaglas (Tough as nails).

 

Traverse City is such a great town. Lots of stuff to do all year round.

High Pointe has closed, and the resort is not going to run Lockenheath this year either, so that's two good courses lost to the economy.
