Bending X-Tours

is it easy????

I recently got a set of x-tours, but i feel they might be a little upright for me so i want to bend them flat. i have always done my own club work, i work at a golf shop so i have easy acccess to a bending machine but i want to know how easy is it to bend them?? my boss has told me he never bends any callaway irons due to the bore thru hossel. is their some special technique involved that i can do it myself or would i be better off taking it to a more experienced guy or even sending them back to callaway???

x tours arent Bore Thru's !

You can bent the XTours about 1* or so but I wouldn't recommend more than that. One thing you'll need to be careful about the Xtours, don't tighten the vise too tightly before adjusting the clubs or you'll crack the thin top weldline of the head.

Had mine bent. No problem. These actually have hosel, where other callaways did not.

be careful when you clamp down on the head! the callaway has kind of an odd topline than can get damaged very easily when you tighten the clamp a little hard...just protect the top line with some cardboard or get a clamp that has a brass piece on it...

you shouldnt have to change them 4*, if you need that much cut them down or lengthen them first...what ever you need.

I guess I must have a weird body as I have been fitted and my irons come out at needing to be .25 inch shorter, 4° FLAT. This was for a retail set but I've hooked myself up with a TOUR x tour set with custom grinds so need to obviously get my adjustment done to these.

How about what is the most adjustments anyone has attemped or done with a set of x tours, tour or retail?

I just sent mine back to Callaway, they are bending them for me 3* upright, changing the shafts to Dg Superlights x100 and lengthening .5in over standard, all for the price of $14.00 shipping! Can't wait to get them back, seeing I can't swing a club now, (hurt my back at districts, teeing up a ball, no less).

Can't beat that price. A good client brought in his Fusion irons to be reshafted with Project X - would have been a nice $$$ job but I told him to have his retailer send back to Callaway. He was charged only the price of the shafts so was very very happy.

Hope your back heals. Everyone knows the most dangerous part of LD is placing the tee into the ground. LOL
