I am posting this in ALL the forums i participate in

 

Talked to the co-ordinator at our local food bank today to make sure someone would be there so I could drop some "stuff" off

 

She was in tears and said "name your time, Ill come in and unlock and help unload

 

 

 

 

Times are hard folks. lot of people havin a hard time feeding their kids. if you can help

 

 

do a search of local food banks.

Just donated some money to the local foodbank today actually; times are indeed hard. In the old days everyone came together to help each other out; not sure how we will make it in modern times.

No doubt. There's a place near my house that I've dropped food off for. They are so appreciative. Even Curves has joined in. If you drop off a bag of food they waive the initiation fee.

Fantastic thread. My daughter's girl guide group did a food drive recently and had a bit of a disappointing return, since so many people are having a hard time keeping their own cupboards full, of course. Still, the parents all pitched in and we put bins in the school etc. and ended up getting about 2 pickup trucks full. It all helps.

 

If you can at all afford it, give something.

Skip your next round of golf. Use the money and buy canned food. The last time I did this I was surprised with how many cans of food you can buy for $30-40
