The tour i stops better than any ball i have ever used.

I borrowed one from one of my playing partners in a practise round when i was having trouble holding the greens with my Pro V1x. I used them in the tournament and was really impressed by the way they spun.

Maybe they are a yard or two behind in distance compared to the Pro Vix but thats all.

Its been a while since i spun an eight iron back 3 feet consistently. Not much different to a Pro Vix around the greens, in fact i prefer it.

I love srixon balls and that's what I play. But, like any good golf ho, I buy and try different balls every few rounds. And, I have to say, if I were going to stray from Srixon, this would be my ball of choice. I like the distance, feel, spin and roll of this ball. Its a performer. Too bad its not a Srixon.

In a word--Yes. The Tour i has more spin and feels softer than the ix. Much softer.

I was looking at the list of callaway golf ball pros on their website and I noticed that the majority of the European Tour and the Champions Tour players use the Ix, while the majority of the LPGA tour, PGA tour, and Nationwide tour use the tour i. Is this just by chance or does it have to do with the caliber of players? Anyone know why the balls are spread out like this?

Well many of the courses I hear are pretty windy. The IX is the wind ball of the two. I can't really comment about the Champions but the IX is farther off driver and irons, and runs more on chips and putts. Those qualities may have something to do with it since this tour is for older players.

I used to use the Tour i. It is the longest ball of the driver for me but it does not perform around greens like I want. The Tour i is for low spin players & the opposite is true for the Tour ix. Great balls both. I have switched to the B330-S for feel around the greens. I did lose a little distance but my short game is sharper than ever. Enjoy the Callaway ball sir.
