It's not just for ladies.....

I'm buying a dozen!
Last weekend I found a Precept Lady iQ 180 and threw it in the bag. Yesterday I figured I'd hit a few holes and when I lost it, go back to the D2 feels I've been playing since giving up the Wilson Zips because I couldn't putt them if my life depended on it.

I love this ball! I played the whole round with it and it's still in good shape. I was 10-15 yards longer on my irons and it had decent greenside spin. I also noticed that my drives were a lot more "straighter" than normal. I came home and had to read up on the ball because I knew nothing about it. It's really soft, but yet putts great! ( I think the soft cover on the Zips was my problem with them, I couldn't get no feel when putting with them.)

I'm gonna get some ribbing for playing a ladies ball, but I honestly don't care. I'm a big guy with a slow swing speed and I hit this ball a lot further than any other low compression ball.

Oh yeah, I will be buying the WHITE model.....lol.

There's no mention of the ball on the scorecard - if they work for you then play them! I've actually only seen one person on this forum that seemed to have a huge hangup with men playing ladies' balls. The original Lady was a big favourite of a lot of guys which lead Precept to repackage the same ball as the Laddie iirc. There are also a bunch of guys that like the Callaway HX Pearl. If the ball works for you then who cares what it says on the cover?

I remember when the ball first came out there was big talk about how many guys were using and loving it. Given that the average male golfer's swing speed is much lower than he would admit, it is no shock a lower compression ball will go further. For a higher swing speed, they feel a little mushy. I say play whatever ball gets you the best results.

Who cares really, some of my best rounds ever were with the original Precept Lady. I am not a big hitter, but don't really have a problem compressing the ball and this ball plain out worked.

I haven't tried the IQ180, but certainly would try some of the white ones

Yeah, hit what works for you.

But be a man..play the pink one!

Buddy of mine went all sorts of crooked one day.

After hitting 3 provisionals off one tee, I tossed him a

pink "Paula Creamer" ball I found in the trees....

yep, you know it....striped it--long and right down the middle. :shok:

Did he use it the rest of the round??

For my friends bachelor outing, short man in the foursome had to use the pink ball on the next hole.

Labels, names and graphics are meaningless; ultimately, a golf ball is just specs and for any golfer some specs work better than others.

Nope, didn't play it.

Actually didn't even need it on that hole...I think his 2nd ball was in.

0 fairways, 0 greens...rest of his round.

He has, since then, on occasion, put the white version of that ball in play.

(and occasionally the pink ones, too...that someone ;) manages to get for him.

I've played that ball before, in pink, and liked it a lot. It is soft, but not unlike the Noodle (I liked that one as well). No one cares what color the ball is if it is long and in the fairway. It's a great ball, but I doubt it would ne much if any different than the regular IQ ball.

Bridgestone is still selling the original Precept MC Lady (now repackaged as just "MC Lady", without the Precept name attached to it). Dick's has them on sale for $12 for 2 dozen. an absolutely unbeatable deal.

I found one of those and used it to hit a few drives, bombed one much further than the rest of the day. Next hole a par 3 over water buddy hits his tee shot in the water, throw him the MC lady quickly and he puts the next one within 15 feet of the hole pin high. I may buy some used on lostgolfballs, they are cheap!

No, haven't played the Karma. Still playing these iQ180's and loving them. One thing that I have noticed is that I don't try to "kill" the ball so much anymore and just take a nice easy swing and "trust" the ball more. It seems to go a lot further and be consistently straighter.

If that makes any sense.

I sure know it's working for me. :good:

hahah go for it... i just grabbed one off of the course today and have it thrown in my shag bag, i like the lower compression balls for now, they just feel better off of the putter for me.

hell if it works for you and lowers your score then there is nothing wrong with it

i would still give you crap on the tee box just for S***'s and giggles lol

Isn't this the ball Paula Creamer plays or used to play? I think her swing speed in comparable to most average male golfer if not faster in some cases. If it's good enough for Paula, it should be good enough for the majority of us.

I started playing the Wilson Staff 50/50's last year and I can't use anything else now. They are $15 a dozen.... and the good thing is I don't have to endure any comments like, "hey sally, mark that with your purse" for anything other than my propensity to leave birdie putts short..... But that happens no matter what ball I use.....

I'll man up and admit, I had my wife buy me a dozen of the pink ones when they put them on clearance at the local Wally World.

Last weekend, I decided to give it a try and played 27 holes and did pretty well. The ball had a good feel off of both woods and irons. My putting was off but I don't think that had much, if anything, to do with the ball I was using.

Best of all, I found the ball easier to find during the middle of the day when the glare from the sun was bad, making white balls difficult to spot.
