CHEATING is absolutly rediculous!

Cheating during the round is not the only way to cheat!!!!!!! I belong to a CC that has many of its members playing to a higher handicap just so they can compete or CHEAT at our club tournaments. We have 15 handicapper putting up 70s on back to back weeks and destroying the competitions. The same people seem to always win everything. The club will not take care of it due to those selected winners being the money boys for the club. They will not change the way scores are entered. I think this is the new cheating method at my CC. It really irks me to no end

What do you catch these people doing?

I've seen about everything it feels like. Most of the time when we are going over the score cards to make sure the score is correct they will say they had a lower score on a hole on the front nine. I'm guessing they think I have forgotten but I'm really good at remembering there shots. I will gladly correct them and let them turn in there correct scorecard. But when I have gotten people DQed it's becuase they were in my group and I didn't have there scorecard. I can estimate there score within a few shots, but when I look up at the leader board and see them post a 75 when it seemed to be more around an 80-82 or more then I'll ask for the score card to make sure they did it correctly. 90% of the time there big numbers turn into just bogeys. I've also caught people hitting there ball into the desert and they drop a ball becuase they can't find there's. Both times it seemed fishy that ball came to rest in the middle of the desert with no bushes around. When they hit there approach I look at the ball on the green to see if it is infact there ball. The list gos on and on. It's really sad that we have to deal with this in competitive golf.

@Eddie, I hear ya man. I used to work at a golf course and would play with the alternates during there SCGA team play. I think I played about 8-10 rounds and never came close to winning. One time I shot 71 as a 2 handicap and lost on the 13th hole in the match play. I would have had to shoot around 60-62 to win. This is one of the reason the monthly member tournaments made up there own handicap system which worked pretty well. I found it funny that our big sandbagger has a USGA handicap of 17 and his local member only handicap was 8.

iv seen someone hit a ball over my head in a previous group into the tall grass then wen challanged later he said his ball was in the middle of the fairway from where he made birdie!!Hours later i found his ball and explained to many people what had happened but the result still stood he shot 69 and beat me by 1 :)

Hi,

I play in a touring league that plays in the Metro Philly area, a couple of guys have been caught cheating. And others we are starting to get the heads up on keeping an eye on them.

I would kick the guys that are cheating out for a good while. Even though you try to keep an eye on them it's almost impossible to catch everything. Remember, they are the reason they shouldn't be allowed to play. :)

I just took the time to read through the post since I haven't before and it seems like you guys feel the same way about cheating that I do, I can't stand it.

I don't mind when I'm playing a non competitive round with a weekend golfer an example would be my father. Who shoots low 50s for 9 holes and just goes out to relax and enjoy the time with me or whoever else he plays with, and I don't mind at all if he moves the ball over or takes a mulligan. Or something along those lines.

What I do mind is when I am playing for something and people lie about there score (don't count strokes and some how shoot a 9 and end up with a 6 or 7. I also don't like when people move there ball or listen to this.

One time it was me and my friend against 2 of our other friends. We weren't really playing for anything but there ball went way right on a 300 yard par 4 up hill pretty much dead straight. and it hit a tree. Now they were playing a Titleist and the ball on the green was a Maxfli or something. And they said the Maxfli was there. It made me so mad. About a week later one of them told me and it wasn't really a big deal but the other one cheated a few more times that round and it made me really mad. I can't stand people who have to cheat if it actually involves something prize, money, and/or a spot on a team. If you need to cheat that really sad because all your doing is hurting yourself. I also can't stand sandbaggers. I find them just as irratating even though there really not breaking any rules. I mean golf is suppose to be a gentleman's game (I'm not excluding women or anyone I'm just saying it as respect, honesty, things of that nature) and yet we have people out there who still find it necessary to cheat. I think its very immature.

Well there are my thoughts on cheating.
