Not a Tour Issue MACTEC

Beware!

This driver is nothing mare than a production head with a custom shaft. All of the tour issue MACTEC or Eye-o-Matic drivers have long hosels and are stamped on the sole. Add up the clues... serial mumber, shrink wrap, short hosel, no TV stamp on sole. Please do not get burned!

Like I said in other thread, you need to know who this seller is and he's 100% legit. I've dealt with him in person and I would buy tour issue clubs from him if I'm in the market for what he has.

 

Please do some research or ask questions before jumping to premature conclusions. He's a member here.

Take it from a gyu that works for MacGregor, that is not a tour issue club.

consider yourself corrected... not saying this club, but yes Tour can come in plastic...not all Tour is USED.

I'll second that... not sure about this exact club in question,( I have no interest in it) but he is a pretty legit seller.

all of my woods that come from the TM PGA Tour dept have plastic wrap on them with the spec sticker on the crown.

All of the MACTEC woods in the US have USA Version and serial numbers on the hosel. Strangely enough, we had some drivers shipped to Canada that had Euro Version etched on the hosel. They specify this because the Japan version looks the same but has a different COR. This year the NVG2 has been issued in Japan in a "High Rebound" version and a "Conforming Version". I leave it up to someone in the Golfwrx family to get their hands on one of the high rebound drivers from Japan.

I know this is a bad photo but I'm sure you will see the long hosel on Greg's MACTEC. I also attached a photo of Jason Alred hitting a MACTEC in competition last year.

 

I have one of last years tour heads around the warehouse somewhere and will get pictures of it up when I find it. I don't mean to kick this reputable seller around. Maybe this club was ordered by a Nationwide or Mini tour player but MAcGregor won't give the true tour production heads out easily. There are heads that are made for Badds, Greg, Jose that are very hard to come by. Most driver heads from the van have TV stamped on them or the initials of the player they are made for. The rest are stock with exotic shafts.

I will second that. I know Kevin Schneider (Barry Schneider's son) & I have hit tour issue mac tec 1's & 2's. The hosel is a retail hosel. You need not debate it any more, it's retail.

The MACTEC retail Tour version has a long hosel too! Maybe that's where the confusion lies.

 

I'm pretty sure the staff players are playing the Tour version with the longer hosel to start with. (Except for Olazabal who is playing a Titleist 905R)

I'm sure you are the one that is confused. The 1st mac tec models had short hosels, The 1st tour issue mac tec drivers had long hosels & a brushed finish on the face. You are thinking of the mac tec 2 tour. This is similar to the actual tour issue mac But the seller says the driver pictured is tour issue. The one in the photo is a retail model because it has the short hosel. Trust me, I have hit prototypes from before they were in japan, I have hit tour issues & retail models. I know the difference.

Read the whole thread. We are discussing wether or not this is a tour issue. Not if it is a Mac tec 2 tour & not if the Mac tec 2 tour has a long hosel.

Tell that little Schneider that he still owes me after throwing me in the swimming pool with my cell phone in my pocket a couple of years ago in Phoenix. He'd better have a sweet position in the company for me some day after that night of debauchery.
