MP-60 or MP-52

Can't decide which irons to go with..

I currently play the MX-20's, which are awesome clubs, but I want to step up my game, so I am looking at the Mp-60's and the MP-52's as that opportunity...I am leaning towards the MP-60's, but just want some thoughts on likes and dislikes of both irons....lets here some chatter!!

I have a mint set of 52's with 51 and 56 wedges with R300s if you are interested. Have 36 holes on them.

If you feel you can handle the 60's I think you should also include the 62's in the equation, not much difference in forgiveness and the 62's are awesome irons (not that the 60's and 52's aren't)...

62s definitely have a better trajectory for me than the other 2.

Going from the mx series to mp series you'd be better off with the 52s for forgiveness. I just went from r7tp to 52s and couldn't beleive what I've bee missing. The r7 tps were great but the mizzys are just at a another level.

For forgiveness go with the 52's, looks go with the 60's. But if you want the best mix of the two go with the 57's,they did good things for my game and they are the best feeling set of irons I have owned.

Go with the 52s, I have them and if I hit them well I don't see enough of a difference between them and my buddy's MP-32s to make it worth losing my cavity back. Keep in mind that they are not THAT easy to hit, so it's not as if you will be any less elite of a striker out there.

Thanks guys for your input, but I swung them both two different times, and the Mp-60's just felt so much better, and I favor the thinner top line, as opposed to mp-52's which have a thicker top line. I am taking in all you guys are saying, but also its hard to find a set of Mp-52's on ebay for a reasonable price,they are just too new a club. The MP-60's I can get reasonably priced..thanks again guys

I say the mp-62's are the superior club, hands down.

I've had a set of 60's in my bag for the last 3 years, so you don't have to guess on my recommendation. I usually try to find a demo days to hit the new Mizunos every year when they come out and I've hit the mp-52s on a couple of occasions. The differences I saw are a little tighter feel in the 60s and obviously a little (actually quite a bit) more forgiveness in the 52s. They both work the ball pretty much equally well laterally. The biggest difference I found was in flighting the ball. The day I hit the 52s there was a strong headwind and it was noticeably easier to knock down the 60s. However, this could just be attributed to the fact that I am used to the 60s.

 

They're both great clubs but I couldn't be happier with my 60s. Just my experience, hope it helps.

 

Also, have you looked at the MP57's? Those kind of bridge the gap between what you're looking at and might be a good fit too. Good luck, and you can't go wrong with either.

I have a split set - 4-7 MP-52 8-PW MP- 62. I also had KBS shafts installed.
