Need opinions on Northern Lower Michigan Golf Trip in August

A buddy and I are heading to Northern Lower Michigan for golf trip in August. Here is our itinerary, but wanted your advice on our choices or if you have any better ideas.

 

Leave Saturday mid-morning:

 

Saturday pm: Otsego Club (The Tribute)

Sunday am: Black Lake

Sunday pm: True North

Monday: 36 holes at Forest Dunes (another WRX member..can't wait)

 

Any thoughts on the courses. We stuck in the Otsego Club but that may change. I have played Kingsley Club, Arcadia, and will be playing Crystal Downs in September. We played forest dunes last year...OMG our favorite course (had to come back again). Let me know.

I wouldn't change a thing. Sounds like an awesome trip. Forest Dunes is my favorite course in Michigan since I played it for the first time last year -- it knocked the Tribute out of the top spot (note that I have not played Arcadia Bluffs or Tullymore). Black Lake is great, and I've heard great things about True North.

Your trip sounds really good. The Tribute is a great track so I wouldn't take it off the list.

All of your choices look great, The only course i could throw in while on your way up there is The Nightmare in westbranch. The course is in my top five every year. If you decide to play there....Take notice on how quiet it is on the course, You won't here anything .

IMO I'd not bother with Black Lake it's a little out of the way and in that regard not really worth it. I played it once and have a really difficult time remembering individual holes. I'd play the sunday am round in Gaylord maybe treetop fazio or smith, or Black Forest. Also a sunday AM round at Belvedere in Charlevoix would be on your way to True North (though I don't know if public access is easy on a Sun AM @ Belvedere.
