how do you get it out?

I have been using HALO (3i, 22* loft) for a few months now and I am having trouble in the rough. I can hit it fine from the fairways or in the fairway bunkers, but when my balls goes in the the rough (about 2 ~ 3 inches tall soft grass, or thick 1 inch rough where the ball is sittin on the bottom) I can't seem to get a solid contact on the ball. It could be my swing as I think I am topping the ball in the rough for some reason, but... am I not supose to use hybrid in those situations? I thought hybrids were designed to be easy from the rough (compare to irons or fw woods). :golfer: How do you use your HALO in the rough? what situations do you use your HALO? Do you hit down? sweep up? I try to swing down on the ball just like irons since I have steel shaft. I am losing confidence in HALO in the rough that I just use my 4 iron to punch it out rather than going for it. Thanks in advance for the reply.

I've found the HALO to be great out of the rough. Played at Coyote Creek in the San Jose area 2 weekends ago(played both courses) and the rough was really tough due to all the rain they've had. The Halo put me around the green from far away every time. It came out low due to the thick grass but it advanced the ball nicely. Perhaps you're just coming in too shallow. Try coming in a little more steep.

I play the Halos as well. You gotta hit down on the ball. I was actually in this situation today, only my ball was sitting all the way down in 3 inch rough. Took my Halo, and hacked it out. I didn't fly it to the green, but it came out low spinning and got to the front edge, about 15-20 yards shorter than I hit it off the fairway.
