I need help...

Recommended Posts

Ok im 17 yrs old and am going to be playing on my highschool golf team next semester.

Currently i hit Ping eye 2's 5-pw. Im not fairly new to the game by any means and i am wanting to get a new set of clubs. So my question is should i stick with the eye 2's, reshaft them maybe? The two sets im interested in are the ping G15's and the adams A4 irons so tell me what you think or any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If those are your final 2, I would go with the 15's.

"In my humble opinion", I have tried to first find out what kind of swing I have and/or want to work towards, and then, after I've identified what that is, go looking for a credable golf club builder and fitter and work with them "within" my financial means.
Golf swing learning(education and experience) is a persuit towards a goal that ends when we're on the other side of the grass. Enjoy then "round"!

Kind of difficult to answer without knowing where you are with your game. But the difference between the G15 (or even more so the A4s) and the Nike forged cavity backs is HUGE. Personally I would stay away from the A4s or some similar clubs (max forgiveness clubs) that do a lot of the work for you. I feel like you would plateau sooner as they would hide some flaws in your swing which would hamper you in the future. But that is my personal opinion. The i15s might be something to look at besides the g15. A little more skill needed than the g15 but probably a little easier to play than the Nike forged CBs. If you are looking at forged irons check out Mizuno (My favs) and Titleists. Test out a wide variety.

But when all is said and done pick what feels right to you and something you enjoy hitting. If you decide on one of the players club just be ready to work hard.

whats wrong with the eye2? they are nasty clubs, I use them and I can't imagine any other clubs are that much better. maybe send them in to PING for a retumble and regrip with multicompounds, and BAM! practically new clubs. As for a reshaft, which ones do you have in there now? Any of the old shafts are decent, its probably a ZZ Lite, which is a lower launching stiff shaft. It should fit you unless your swing is really slow, or really fast.

prob cant go wrong with the r7s for the price -- 15s are also very nice if you like the look of pings

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
