How long have you been playing and whats your handicap

Started 3 years ago and am a 12 handicap

2 years 2 months. official hcp 2.9. however, i keep track of all my round stats and my scoring average is 79.3

 

i am 21 years old and i played baseball, basketball, football and always loved sports but never even considered golf as an option until college. first time out on the course shot 123 through 17 holes it got dark. looking back it was probably more like a 130 or more because i didnt know the rules and i lost several balls.

 

i was blessed to never have a slice. i think that is the reason i got good so fast. i only remember shooting in the hundreds 3 or 4 times. i got to the high 80 low 90s real fast i think within 4 months. first time breaking 80 was special birdied the last 2 holes to shoot 79. last september i won the club championship at the same course were i played my first round. that day i shot 71 76 it was my first time breaking par i have not broke par since then. hopefully i will defend next september!

 

i love thiss game!!!!!!!!!!! my long time life goal is to break a 100 when i am 100 years old. i will then hopefully lay down and die right there on the 18th green!!

Well, I started playing for 1st time around 1975 and got into plus handicap somewhere around 1990 to 1991 so I've held a plus handicap for about 15 years as low at +3.8 in mid 1990's until last month at +1.7 but this month was the 1st time that I can say that I do not hold a plus handicap anymore due to my recent bad play so my handicap is at 0.1 with my last 15 scores that averages at around 75 or so.

 

At least I might be able to bum some strokes nowdays instead of giving out some strokes so that might be a good thing for me!!!! :)

Took the great game up late in life (I'm 49 now), have been playing for the last twelve years. Got to a 9 on my own (no lessons), then went to a good local pro a year and a half ago and now carry a 5.8 index.

I'm 31 and I started about 4 years ago. My golf age is about the same as that of Nike golf clubs. (Remember? They just started manufacturing golf clubs just 4 years ago.)

 

Right now, my handicap is 8. Thanks to last week 73 (+3). :)

I began playing when I was 8 years old. I then played until I was in junior high (I won some Houston G.A. junior touneys), where I took up football, basketball and baseball. I played until I graduated high school. I then played a little college ball for a year. It wasn't until I was a Senior in college that I picked up the game again, (I was 22). I played off and on until last year (28 years old). I'm now full bore into golf and play every weekend. Right now I play at 25-30 handicap. My goal is to get right at 20 handicap.

 

Weak points of my game: Driving, iron play

Strong points of my game: Hybrid, 4&7 wood, Wedges, putting

Currently USGA HDCP Index of 5.9 after 2 total hip surgeries and 2 revisions. Am 60 yrs old now and playing 120+ rounds per year(probably the cause of the 2 revisions) Great game

I am now 34, so 26 years of playing with taking time off from age 18 to about 25, no interest to play.

 

Handicap now about 4 and getting better.

Started playing the middle of last summer, when I was 20. Handicap around the 40's (roughed in some #'s) when I started, now a 32.

 

I'm roughing some of the numbers in from my latest scores (2.5 rounds on the year thus far) and just letting them use average course ratings. Hoping to shoot in the mid 90's before the end of the summer. I definately think it's possible, I wasn't serious at all last season and am practicing alot this summer.

I have been playing since I was 16, but I quit after a couple years. Once I graduated high school I picked golf back up and started playing on a regular basis at 19. My starting handicap was 20+ and now I am a 13. I am hoping I can get it lower though.

I thought this would be a good time for my first post as I had my best ever round yesterday!!

I've been playing seriously for 12 months now (got my clubs from the London Golf Show this time last year) and played a lot last summer with my best round being 89 (+17).

I play football / soccer so so from september / october-ish last year until last weekend (last game of the season and I have to admit to being a bit of a fair weather golfer) it's pretty much just been range practice once or twice a week. Over the last couple of months i've played a couple of rounds and went round in 100 twice and then 92 last week and was set for a long summer trying to get an official h'cap of 18 or under, however after a week of practicing every night, 9 holes then on the range, I played 18 yesterday and went round in 78 (+6)!!! Admittedly a lot of shots went my way that could just as easily not have...a couple of kind bounces, putts lipping in instead of out, but I did play well and have now set my sights on a single figure h'cap by the end of the summer!! I don't expect to shoot in the 70's every week but i've proved i can do it, so the sooner I can get through the 80's the better!! ;o)
