surprising find

My Dad and I were visiting my Grandfather years ago. My grandfather was saying that he had some old golf clubs in his outdoor shed and that maybe we'd like to check them out. So not figuring he'd have anything good, but curious as were, we went out and dug through his shed. We found a bunch of beat up old clubs but this one caught our eye. The head was totally coated in rust, but we could tell by the shape of the head that it might be something really good. We took it in the house and started rubbing it down with a little steel wool and after cleaning it up we found a Wilson R-20 Sandwedge. The shaft was in great shape and the original leather grip was still on it. My Dad and I both used it for a couple of seasons, but finally retired it for show only.

Nice find....there are some floating around from time to time. It's also very similar the the original R-90 that I still use today.

Nice find Pitbull.

Jim: Does your R90 have a dot punched face or scoring lines? I have a wedge that has a dot punched face, but the sole is wore enough that I can't tell whether it is a R20 or and R90. Any way to tell?

Mine all have scoring lines (the ones I play). I do have one that does have a punched face. Those were only for a short while. It could be either a 20 oe a90...as both were scored that way for a short time.
