Slope vs. Non-Slope Laser

LOL....and I thought it was up to the player to call a penalty on himself....

"We trust you that it was your Titleist you found in the woods but we don't trust you to turn off your slope feature"

ohh, I am very surprised. Thank you guys a lot. I was just heading to buy a Bushnell 1600 Slope Edition but now you have saved me 100$ I think it is weird that the Slope Edition isn't even allowed in Handicap rounds. But now I am buying the Tournament Edition.

I don't have one and have no plans to get one...but...the rule about not posting scores when used seems counterintuitive to me.

If these devices provide more accurate yardages, that should lead to posting lower scores and thus lower handicaps. I've never heard a competitor complain that my handicap was too low.

What am I missing?

Demo the Bushnell Medalist. Every bit as fast and accurate as the 1500 series but costs less.

You are 'missing' a whole world of 'vanity handicappers' out there (more common than sandbaggers in my experience). Sandbaggers 'hurt you' when they are your competition. Vanity Handicappers 'hurt you' when they are on your team.
