Home built bag

Well i know alot of you may turn up your nose on my bag. Heck even my bag isnt name brand. After spending some time with off the rack name brand clubs "and the DIY in me". I decided to build my own bag.

The driver is nothing but money. I will replace the shaft with a Excaliber when Robin comes out with the new 2k10 line.

Is that tape on the top of the driver? Looks odd. Guy I play w/has one, bombs it.

If it works for you, who cares what others may think? Appears you may have put ego aside and put clubs in your bag that fill specific needs and yardages for you- looks like a smart move!

You should play whatever you want. One bit of advice, if those are plastic tubes in your bag, you should keep your graphite out of them. They will wear through the paint on the shaft and can eventuaully wear into the graphite itself. Nothing more satisfying than playing your own builds! Rock on.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. My problem with off the rack clubs were the woods/driver was too long. And the irons.wedges & putter were too short. I thought i can at least get it right from the get go. Two kids in college with no financial help so this was the only way to get new clubs lol.

I tried to get a good pic of the top half of the driver. It is flat black "not tape". I was really surprised at the quality Finnish of the components. The irons play really well for a new golfer. I have a set of TM R540xd but they feel like a tuning fork when struck. I also like the fact that i can change swing weights at will without tearing the clubs apart. Neat stuff.

Good looking setup. Maltby makes top notch clubheads. And custom fitting is a very good benefit of making your own. I have a set of MTF forged irons that I played for a couple of years. One of the best forgings I've played.

I like the bag and I like Maltby products! I play the MMB's and I'm getting ready to build a Maltby CT 250 driver, a KE4 24* hybrid and 56* and 60* Maltby M Series Black Ion wedges. Keep up the good work!

i LOVE your bag! From the reviews i have read nothing but good things about the trouble out line of Woods and Hybrids. And I like the Maltby staff bag. I should have got one of those when they were 60 bucks in Oct. oh well. Take pride in your stuff! They are quality made and well designed and you can probably play about a summers worth of golf with what you saved compared to the same set up in OEM stuff.

Oh and I am currently hitting Maltby MMB's DGX-100 a Maltby CT 250 Fight control driver and a maltby CT 250 5 wood, 2 Maltby M-series forged wedges which i will be replacing with the Black series next spring.
