Strata Tour Professional

Did you play it?

I found a Strata Tour Professional in my father-in-law's bag while visiting over Christmas. Anyone play this one? I did some research but was mostly turning up the Tour Professional 90 or Tour Professional 100.

Did the Tour Professional have a urethane cover? Any thoughts on how it played? What did it sell for per dozen?

When I can golf again (I'm in Wisconsin) I'll play it for a couple holes to see how it performs (I'm usually a ProV1 or Srixon Z-Star user).

BTW - there's no point in posting pics--all it says is STRATA in black, the number in red underneath, and Tour Professional for the sidestamp.

The Strata Tour Professional is one of my favorite balls of all time! I don't think it was balata. Absolutely loved it! I believe the Strata ML Balata was the other Strata ball at this time. In fact, IIRC you could get a 3-sleeve pack (2 professionals and 1 ml balata) for dirt cheap, like $15 or so in your golf shops at one time. Excellent combination of feel, spin, distance, and control at an unbeatable price. I played this ball until I moved on to the Strata Tour Ultimate which was a great update to this ball. Never got the chance to really place the Strata Tour Ace balls with the introduction of the Pro V1. You'll enjoy it. I'm sure it will feel about as hard as a range ball when you hit it though haha!

The Strata was the best feeling ball since the wound ball was discarded..... wish it were longer off the tee I would still play it

I'll echo both these comments. Absolutely loved the Strata for a while. Got to a point I could not find them. Great balls.

The Strata Tour Professional had a Zynthane cover and was a Spalding ball.

I've really enjoyed playing the Strata Tour Ultimate ball. I'm down to my last two and a half dozen. I bought all I could find when they were discontinued several years ago. I remember finding a guy on ebay that had a bunch and I ended up buying about 8-9 dozen from him that were all number 0.

Great ball, great distance, and they are great around the green.

I'm going to try finding the closest to it I can in today's market. I'm going to need a new ball sometime next summer.

I played the Strata Tour Ultimate for a couple of years. While it had the durability of wet tissue paper, it was a really good performer.

i used to play those balls. they were a good deal back then. i still remember how it felt off the putter, kinda like the bridgestone b330s
