Accuflex Evolution Lite

Recommended Posts

The Evolution Lite is the 2nd Nano Composite shaft produced by AccuFLEX Golf. It was designed to have the same feel and consistency of the original Evolution, however this shaft is lighter and has a slightly softer overall flex profile which helps the shaft load more easily. In keeping with the our Evolution look, the shaft is offered in iridescent colors as it changes in the light from green to blue to purple.

I have had this shaft in an X Flex for a little while now. My overall opinion is that it is a very good shaft. It is my first shaft in the 60gram range and it did take some time to get used to it. I ended up having this shaft tipped 1/2" as it was not stiff enough at first. My avg. swing speed is 112-116mph. It is a lot different feeling than the original Evolution. The one thing that is very similar to the original is the ball flight. It is a very tight boring trajectory. I have found that this shaft seems to be more for a swinger as opposed to a hitter. I tend to get pretty quick from the top which I could get away with before, but not so much now. I think maybe that is a good thing for me. It will force me to make a more even tempoed swing which should keep me out of trouble. I will tell you that this thing will really move it. I am not sure if it is the light weight or maybe some increased kick, but I am hitting it a solid 10yards further than the original Evolution which I had in this exact club head. For the $ I am very pleased! I would recommend it.

To say that I'm pleased with the performance of the Evolution Lite is an understatement!

I am playing an Infiniti 440 10.5 driver with which I've had good success with both a UST ProForce V2 and an Axiv 6564M.

The Evolution Lite puts both of those shafts in the corner and is in the bag to stay.

Me: Tempo Swinger but can get wristy at the bottom. Swing Speed 102-104

I usually play a draw which can get hooky with the Axiv. None of that with the Evo Lite.

The Evo Lite takes the left side completely out of play for me - but the mule kick at the bottom is giving me 7-10 more yards on center hits.

Shaft is very mild mannered and well behaved on waggle and backswing. What's incredible is the POP at impact.

I decided to play the shaft at 46" and then butt cut if needed [maybe that's the extra 7-10 yards :) ] but everything just feels right and very balanced.

The Evo Lite could probably be called a "poor man's Axiv" but I prefer to call it a right priced performer.

Jody and the gang at AccuFlex have themselves a bona fide winner here!!

Todd

I put this in a Tour Edge Exotics 10.5. A stiff flex 45" long "untipped" (Accuflex recommends NOT tipping this shaft - buy the right flex). A stiff flex runs 91-105 mph ss so if you crank it over 105 consider the X flex. It likes a smooth swing and when you get that going and your release is timed right it sends the ball farther then I've ever hit anything and the feeling is out of this world. Not for a gorilla with a hard swing though. If you really know how to swing a golf club (I swing it right about 2/3 of the time) this shaft will put you straight down the middle and long. Perfect mid trajectory also. Best shaft I've found so far but I love to keep playing with other new ones.

Need Some Evolution Lite Shaft Advice - About to buy a Nakashima NP1 460, 11.5 degrees and trying to decide what shaft to put in it. Sounds as if the Evolution Lite Regular or Stiff flex is a great shaft & may be the answer. My swing speed - 90 - 93 but its generally smooth. Currently using a NVS regular in a KZG 10.5 degree but the ball ballooning with hooking/pulls. Never had that problem before so its the shaft.

Had previously been using a UST Gold 65 Regular with stiff tip which was consistently low but was easy to control but I had to swing hard to get distance. Launch monitor chap moved to a softer tipped shaft and now I've lost control of the ball but the distance has improved.

Question - The posts indicate the Evolution Lite is softer in flex so I not sure if I should go to the stiff, which would probably hurt distance, and get me swinging harder. I'm 58 so I don't want to swing any hard than I am. Do you think the Evloution Lite in regular suites me better or the stiff? No shafts around here so I can test any out.

any info would be appreciated.

I can't help you with picking a flex as I am no expert. I can tell you that you will not be disappointed in the performance of the Evolution Lite shaft! You should send a pm to Jody at AccuFlex who is a member of this board. He will be able to answer your questions for sure! http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/index.php?showuser=4116 Good luck!
