going the ryan moore route???

I am 55 (does this qualify me for this forum :rolleyes:) and constantly thinking of another way to slip a hybrid in. I was reading posts on what Moore has done and I am wondering if this would be a route to take. Any drawbacks? I have my own loft/lie machine so to bend a few clubs 1-2 degrees to give me the 5 degree gap in each club is not a big deal but it would essentially take my 5 iron out and allow me that one extra spot for a hybrid. I know I could easily take out the 3 iron and just add a hybrid but hey that's too easy. This sounds more unique and a fun thing to try. Anybody have any thots. Thanx inadvance.

The set now feels like the old Titleist DCI and 990's loft spreads. The 4 and 5 iron are way more useable.
I added a 52 and 56 wedge but there seems to be too much of a gap between the PW and GW on the course. I"m still getting used to it.
I shot 88 at Koolina the other day, lst time playing that beautiful course. Did well on approach shots with the new irons but my putting skill was zilch for the day (stupid 3 putts !!!).
The Wilson Staff set has dynamic gold steel shafts swingweighted to D-4. Also used steel shafted Callaway x hybrids in 4 and 5 to fill the upper gap though the 5 hybrid overlaps 5 iron a bit.

I hope this helps others experiment with loft adjustments on their clubs.

what are ur thought on the pi7's i just prdered a set the other night! Haven't been able to get much feedback from anyone since wilson isnt "cool" in the states lol. Thanks

TGW had a closeout price on the PI7's and I took a chance. They feel great. Look great, like "real" golf clubs instead of shovels. And the more neutral offset helps straighten out my draw.
I have a Ping I-10 set, G-10, and I'3's before that. The dynamic gold shafts that come stock on the PI7 are better than a lot of stock cheapo factory steel shafts. The set feels like a Titleist 990 DCI set but more buttery on contact. I was looking for clubs that were forgiving yet gave real feedback so that I'd have to strive for more quality ball contact and accuracy. So far it's working well. (especially for the price).

ps: I like the fact that these clubs aren't covered with fancy sticker plates or colors.

Yupp i was looking at both the ci7 and pi7's. I am currently playing callaway x-18s so i decided to finally pull the trigger on the pi7's. ive never hit them or seen them in person so i was a little skeptical. I'm still not sure and wont be until i take them out to the course, but hearing your opinion is awesome.

After playing a bunch of rounds and a lot of range time with a set of "re-lofted" irons, I think it's more important to have dependable distances and trajectories regardless of what the loft "spread" is. And, even lofts don't seem to make even yardage gaps.

I did find a little more forgiveness when increasing loft on a club due to increased bounce. Also, increasing the unrealistic factory lofts a degree or two, especially in the shorter clubs, seems to help accuracy where it's needed the most.
