Bear's Best Atlanta

Going to Atlanta in April. Any thoughts/comments on Bear's Best in Atlanta?

Played it once and I loved it. It was a lot of fun and a really cool concept. Make sure you get a caddy though, he will give you a little bio on each hole and the course it is from..plus advice. But I thought having a caddy made the experiance all the more fun. If you take a cart you usually only need one caddy per group, as he is more of a tour guide than a caddy. Def a cool course to check out. It isnt cheap though.

If you are speding a few days in the ATL there are some other pretty good courses open to the public as well...and some really nice private courses.

It's a great track. We did a golf trip to Atlanta last year and we ended up playing Bear's Best a second time because we liked it so much. The overall condition was great, well manicured and good greens. The staff was excellent and it was enhanced by taking a fore-caddy (which I believe is a requirement for non-members).

Thanks for the input. As fas as Private clubs in the area, we do have reciprocal playing privileges at Eagles Landing, Country Club of Gwinett and Laurel Springs CC. Anybody have any thoughts on those?

Also, for Bear's Best--we will have our wives with us. They are decent players, but a little worried that this may be too much for them to handle. Any input on a lot of forced carries, tons of water hazards, etc.

I love Laurel Springs, it is one of my favorite courses in the ATL area, its a great Nicklaus Course. I have not played the other two.

As for Bears Best,if they are decent players they should not have too much trouble. The holes that have carry of water from the tee all have red tees that are past the water. #6 which is #12 from Muirfield Village is a par 3 that is all caryy over water, #8 has a carry over water for the approach shot those are the only holes where water would be an issue from the red tee....From the white tees there will be more water in play and #18 is a beast if the wind is in your face.
