Callaway golf shoes. Any good?

I don't see many people talk about or comment on Callaway golf shoes. The styling of 2010 models seem to be quite appealing and I would like to try one (the X-series Hyperbolic SL).

 

Any tour players wear it? (Phil Mickelson, maybe?)

 

Currently, I'm wearing Adidas Tour 360 III. Are Callaway golf shoes any good?

They're not as good as the Adidas IMO. I've never tried any of the high end Callaways, but the mid tier shoes that I did try one were nothing compare to Tour 360 and Powerband.

Had some mid priced ones and they were crap. never tried their hire end ones. using some Dryjoys right now.

I have a 2 year old pair that I bought for $69 and I think they're fine. My feet are very comfortable after a round, and that is what counts. Plus, they look cool too :-)

I bought this pair of Callaway shoes in April, 2009 and have played about 45 rounds with them (cart riding only). They have held up well and still look good & quite comfortable. I did replace a few of the original spikes which had broken fingers after a few months. Paid less than $100.

Had the Hyperbolic X-Tour's last season.

Pro's: Light, comfortable, good support, stable platform

Con's: Not waterproof (lower tongue area)

Hated to send them back, but the waterproof issue was a killer problem as I played a lot of early morning golf. Don't know if they corrected the problem in the 2010 line but the Hyperbolic SL seems to have a better design.

In my opinion, they seem to be kind of stiff. I haven't tried any of the high end ones though. Phil wears the most expensive callys, i think they are called the Tour Brogue series.

I bought a pair two year ago - can't remember the exact model but they're very similar to the this year's X-Series Chev I. Contrary to most comments here but I really like mine - find them very comfortable (as comfortables as my Ecco's).

Last Spring I wanted to add a pair of solid brown shoes to my collection and bought a pair of Callaways.
They looked great, but they were way too stiff for my liking.
I took them back and traded them for another pair of FootJoy Dry Joys.
For me, these seem to be the best shoe.
I wish that Ecco made a pair that fit me properly. A 42 is too small and a 43 is too big.
I know the Addidas 360's are nice shoes, but I like a more classic look.

My dad has a previous model of Callaway shoes, Precision XTT's. He says they are very comfortable. From my experience, shoes with a TPU outsole (not rubber) are more flexible and comfortable. A lot of Callaway shoes have a rubber, a more rigid, outsole. Callaway's premium Hyperbolic line has a TPU sole. So does Ecco's, Footjoys (Dryjoys and higher models), Adidas 360, and Nike TW line. Nike is similar to Callaway in that primarily the premium line has TPU outsoles.

Own 3 pairs of Callaway Tour Authentic HX and love them. They are made very well, fit is a bit snug at first but eventually after a couple of rounds they "fit like a glove"...seriously. I always liked the more dress-like looking shoes, can't stand any of those "sport shoe styling a-la Hyperbolic X"...its too bad that they are almost sold out of these and I can hardly find my color/size combo anymore. That said, does anyone know the difference in Callaway's Medium (D) to Wide (2E)...is it very significant ? is this standardized what width (in inches) D and 2E is ? Any1 ?

I have a pair of last year's Gen-X series saddles and they are comfortable enough for riding. Walked a round in them and my feet got pretty beat up, most notably the backs of my heals. I use them when I know I'll be riding, otherwise I wear my DryJoys.

I have the XTT from this year and love them....very very comfortable.

I bought a pair of last year's all-white Tour Authentic Pinstripe Saddles and they were a steal at the price I paid. Very different from other mid/upper mid line shoes I've used in the past from Adidas and Foot-Joy, like the Contour, DryJoys with the Pod sole and older Tour 360s. The Callaway TAs were constructed and felt much more like quality dress shoes than athletic shoes. Feel and performance was night and day. The TAs started out quite stiff and I am still breaking them in. However, the stability was evident on the first swing. Again, night and day difference. My guess is that the feel would compare to something like the Footjoy Classics that they no longer make, but I've never tried the Classics.

I have a pair of the Callaway Cambridge as seen here:

 

Several years old and when I first bought them I wore them for a season rotating w/ one other pair and they held up great and are very, very comfortable. I walk almost all of my rounds (4+ 18 hole rds. a week) and still have these today and they still feel and look great. Now I rotate w/ four pairs:). They are part of the ERC collection. These fit my feet perfect.

+1 on the XTT, great bang for the buck. I purchased these to back up 2 other pair of Foot Joy classics and are quickly moving to my top choice due to sizing.
