Cataract Surgery Monday 3/29/10

Well, I am having cataract surgery Monday on my right eye and the following Monday on my left eye. I hope to finally be able to see the ball land when it's over. What experiences have others had as far as improved vision and recovery?

My Doctor didn't want me to play for three weeks after the surgery. But when I got back I could see where my ball was going and didn't have to ask if antone saw where that went.

That is encouraging. They actually said I could play the same day if I wanted. They also told me of a BB ref that had surgery in the morning and officiated a game that night. That's really scarey.

If there are any stitches in the eye you want to wait a few weeks. I know when I had eye muscle surgery I couldn't even lift anything heavier than 5-lbs for a month to 6 weeks.

But I think here, they remove the lens and then fuse a new one over. Still make sure you get the correct advice.

I have Gloucoma and have Cataract surgery 5 years ago. It turned out great. I was able to put my precription glasses down for over two years and wear regular sunglasses and it was wonderful. Because of the Gloacoma I'm back to waring presciption glasses but only to give me a little crisper vision. The surgery it self was a piece of cake. The prep, surgery and recovery was a couple of hours then the a short period, when the patch come off I could see perfectly. This is what happens when you get a nice clean new lens, it's great. Everything will be fine. Your golfing will improve greatly.

How did the surgery go? I hope well. I'm getting close to needing an interocular lense implant and would like as much information as I can get. I'd really like to see the ball roll to a stop again.

The surgery went great. I played 9 holes with my son 1 hr after I had the 2nd eye done, with Drs permission. I can see the ball in flight, and even when it lands now. I even see it on occasion after it rattles around in the trees.

I went to back to the doc 2 days ago to get a new perscription and after all the tests he said a new perscription would be a waste of time.

What kind of lenses did you go with?

Are you now free of glasses, up close and for distance?

Any downside at all?
