3 Wood Cally X or 904f?

I play the X 13* with a stock regular shaft which provides me with a slight draw and a penetrating low-ball trajectory. Price was right of Ebay . I did demo the titliest however I tried numerous other clubs ie Mizuno, Cleveland, Hogan & Ping, with money being a factor for me too I picked the Callaway X.

I had the 904f, but for some perposterously stupid reason (one for which i am still beating myself over :crazy: :cheesy: :cheesy: ;) ) i traded it for a v-steel. I loved my 904f to death, but the club ho bug bit me and i traded it on impulse. Very solid club and i am ashamed that i traded it for a v-steel which i personally don't like. I am definately going to get the 906F when it comes out though. You may just want to wait for that or if your impatient, just get the 904F.

I've just discovered the Sonartec MD - I may never need a fairway metal again - the 15 degree model is brilliant club of tee or fairway. Seriously though, there are better fairways out there than the 904F or Cally X Tour. Give the Ping G5 or the Sonartec SS3.5 fairways a try. You won't be disappointed - the Sonartec SS3.5 even comes with the same stock shaft (Fuji Tour Platform 26.3) as the X Tour but feels much better IMO.

I have a x 15deg w/ stock stiff graphite shaft and a 904f 19 deg. w/ ys-6 stiff shaft. They are entirely different beasts.

 

I would say the x is more forgiving and the ballflight is lower than recent cally fw's. It will still go left if I get quick with it. But if i need a left to right flight off of the teebox that still goes....I hit the x off the tee and I still get nice yardage out of it.

 

The 904 is not as hot off of the face but it is an incredibly solid feeling cub. Very consistant distances as well. I think the shaft is what makes the 904 shine.

Thanks. You can see below what I chose. I went stiff rather than reg as in my driver for more control and to keep the ball down. It is working great. Thanks for the replys. Moe
