Nike VR str8 fit settings?

upright or flat????

I just bought a nike vr str8 fit driver. I'm going to take it to the range today for the first time. With my old driver (nike sumo 5000) I normally hit a slight draw and if I swing bad it is a terrible slice. I don't know how I should set up the driver to start. I want to start at neutral, but UPRIGHT, or FLAT? I did some searching and I couldn't find what the difference is between neutral upright and neutral flat. So what is the difference? Thanks in advance and the sooner the better because i'm going to the range this morning.

I hate to bump my own thread, but I just got back to the range and I tried it both ways. I put it at a slight draw UPRIGHT and slight draw FLAT. I couldn't tell too much of a difference just from looking and I hit them about the same. However, will one way or another give me more distance? Different trajectory or anything like that? Like I said, I did search for the difference between upright and flat and I couldn't find any good info on it. Please help a Newbie.

Let me qualify my response with the caveat that I'm not expert..

It's my understanding/belief that changing the face angle to an upright position will enhance or promote a right to left flight. Flat will theortically have the opposite impact.

However, I've read other places that the settings on the VR are subtle with regard to impact on flight.

I'm curious to see how others respond..

Did you go with the stock shaft?

Yes I have the stock Voodoo shaft. Golf Galaxy wouldn't switch the project x shaft from the VR tour without a $200 upcharge.

OK, I did some more searching and it seems that you are correct Blake. at least thats what I read about irons. Anyway, since no one is chiming in, how about the lie angle of the stock nike sumo 5000? I guess I should pick the lie angle that is pretty close to that because I can really hit that driver well.

I'd just try all the settings out at the range first-should tell you what you want to know.

*bump* can anyone offer.insight on overall loft change? Or recommendations for flat vs upright neutral settings? Im clueless... Talking about vr pro str8 fit model, thanks for the input

I have one, kinda outrgrew it though (too much loft, too soft a shaft) but I have messed around with the 32 settings and pretty much just left it clocked 2* open most of the time which decreases the loft. I did notice a difference, my 30yrd draws were more like 20yrd draws and my slight pulls were nice and straight. The settings definitely do make an impact. As far as upright and flat, there's info all over on that, just google lie angle.

The flat setting will promote a lower ballflight and is for dynamic fitting. If your swing plane is flat or you tend to hit the ball off the heel, flat is the way to go. Think about how your iron lie angle is, you will want to closely match it. At address, see if the toe is pointing up,mid so flat is the way to go.

Thanks, i hit a bunch with it in the simu but never tried it flat. Tried 2* open and neutral upright
