How much difference does one degree make?

R7 460 9.5 reg vs R7 460 10.5 reg

Curious about something.....actually something that's been bothering me.

I've demoed the R7 460 10.5 degree regular REAX 60 shafted driver a couple of weeks ago. Hit it a ton but thought my ball flight was a little too high, therefore I went and bought the same exact driver except in the 9.5.

Same exact setup, 14g in the heel, 2g in the toe, same shaft, everything is the same except I can't seem to get the ball flight on this driver where I want it. I am hitting it too low.

I'm talkin' it's about half as high as the 10.5 if that high.

Is it the arrow or is it the indian? Does one little bitty degree make that much difference in ball flight??

With normal tolerances, a 9.5 could be 8.8 or even 10.2, and your 10.5 could actually be 9.7 or 11.2. It might be a good idea to have someone measure the loft on your driver.

Yes, I did...............but this is now a non-issue. Thanks to a local demo day. I went to it immediately after I started this thread.

 

The r7 460 is no more. Replaced it yesterday with a MacTec NVG2 10.5 stiff.

 

Long story short, it's amazing what you can learn from hitting on a launch monitor.
