Where are you playing?

With the United States Junior Amateur qualifiers starting this coming week i wanted to find out where everyone is planning on qualiying at.

I will be playing at Shawnee C.C. in Milford, Delaware on Tuesday, June 20th.

You play there yet? its actually playing real easy, but the pins wernt as hard as they could be and what not. What you think you will need to shoot to qaulify? I was thinking around a 66-66 or something like that

are you caddieng for justin? i saw him up there today. i went oput and just screwing around shot 68. its gonna be a shootout betwen about 6 of us. Michael Soowal, Amory Davis, John Ladow, Justin Martinson and me. Ive never heard of the other kids. i think 4 under will get you in.

i would have played but couldn't because my cousins wedding and I am in it. I am playing in the US AM. qualifier at Redlands Country Club, a course where I have won a tournament before

Well I just got back from my qualifier. The weather was pretty good besides some wind. I shot 75 on the first 18. I was sitting tied for 8th place. The thing I find ridiculous is the fact they have you play 36 holes. I went into the other 18 holes pretty much dead and shot my worst tourney score this year and is just embarrassing I think. But ended up with an 86. :yahoo: Low was 71-71. Good luck to everyone else and hopefully we can get some to qualify. Hope to hear some other stories and how you ended up.

I had mine yesterday and shot 71-71 and had to go to playoff 4 people for 3 spots and I made par on 1 and 1 kid made bogey so I qualified.

 

low score was 141

I had mine a few weeks ago at Westwood Country Club in Buffalo New York. First time i had seen the course because being from Canada I was still in school. I played really HORRIBLE...and had 78 putts through two rounds. Shot 83-81 to cap off two worst tournament rounds of the year.

I had mine the other day. I shot 73 72 and missed it by three with 9 birdies. I was so frustrated.

I played last monday up at Goose Creek in Mira Loma and posted a 140 (72-68) total and got an alternate spot. Was pretty bummed about that...

Alternate sucks.

 

I had to go into a playoff for 3rd alternate 2 years ago and it really sucks because you don't feel like playing anymore after you didn't make it and you really dont want to play more when you are playing for a spot that you know will never get in the tournament.

Thats exactly what I thought after playing 36 holes. Those two playoff holes for alternate spots with no warm up really sucked.

I am bringing my own caddy because I heard the ones they provide suck.

 

My swing coach is caddying for me, he caddied in the qualifier for me as well

I am leaving in 45 minutes to head to the airport for the US Junior. I will try to get on here and update y'all on the course and how I am playing. We get 3 practice rounds so I should be able to learn the course pretty well.

The ones they provide do not suck, they are just kids like you and me...I am sure you would not a make a very good caddy either, especially if you do not know the guy you are carrying for. Next time think of who you might affend.

I have numerous friends who have told me not to get a caddy from the club because they aren't good.

 

 

 

The course is awesome btw.

 

I could see somebody going really low but you will also see some high scores. The rough isnt as deep as I expected but it is tough around the greens if you are in the rough. The greens are extremely tough and should be firm by Monday and should be a little quicker. The key to playing the course is hitting a lot of greens, which means you need to be in the fairway a lot.

Didn't play very well.

 

Didn't keep it in the fairway and only made one putt outside of 8 feet which resulted in not very good scores. THe Carolina boys didn't play to well this year either. We only had one player get past the 1st round
