Which courses to play?

We are heading to Pinehurst in October for a long weekend. 3 Days of Unlimited golf.
Will do 1 round on #2.......4,7 and 8 seem to be consensus as the other best courses there.
For those of you who have been, would you double up on some combo of those to fill out our 6 rounds or would you try something from the balance (1,3,5, 6)?

There's nothing like playing #2 and you'll love your round there. If possible, take a caddie for invaluable advice on approach shots and on the greens, especially you're first time around!

Next on my list is #8, which many folks will tell you is a tougher course than #2 and I would agree. It's a fair test of golf, but man, does it make you work! Whatever you do, don't pass this one up for a second round.

After that, I really like #7 although I've heard that #4 is a much improved course since they re-did it a couple of years ago (haven't played it recently).

So to answer your question, I like your choice of 2, 4, 7 and 8. Then, I'd double up on #8 and #7 to fill out your six rounds. I'm assuming playing #2 a second time is not an option, considering the $ premium you have to pay over the other courses. If you can dig deeper for a second round on #2, do it.

BTW, if you have a chance to play a round away from the resort, I highly recommend either Pine Needles or Tobacco Road.

I heard that #2 is under construction so you might want to be a little weary of that. My brother in law was up there a few weeks ago. There is one good thing about the construction though apparently you have to be really long off the tee for it to effect your game.

I have played #8 many times and it is a great track. Got to play #4 last November and it is much improved..would play it again. The reamining tracks, meh.

Defintely would play 2,4,8....I played 6 also wasnt that bad...not awesome...havent played 7 but heard decently about it
