Fairvue country club! LOVED it!

In Tennessee

So, my buddy is a member at Fairvue and I got to play 18 there today as his guest. I loved it. It was a very nice course, the staff was very friendly, and even though the greens were a bit dead, they were very nice. I am totally impressed. It can be challenging from the tips, but I had a lot of fun. The plus side is I get range balls for free if I'm with my buddy. I think I'll be going up there one or two times a week now with him. I'm wanting to save up to become a member there myself. It's 15,000 initiation, which isn't too bad. I shot 75, which I am pretty happy with, considering I hit the ball like crap.

There is a lot of fescue there, so getting out of the crap can be hard in some places, but it takes a pretty wild tee shot to get there. From the tips I think it plays right at 7200. But that's the black tees. I love the course.

Which course did you play? Also, I was told by a friend of mine that there wasn't an intiation fee right now but could be wrong on that.

I played Fairvue Plantation. I'll be going to Foxland with him later this week. The proshop manager said that initiation was still in effect, but to wait until they had been bought out so I don't have to join twice. They filed bankruptcy.

That's why I asked which course you played, bc Foxland is part of Fairvue. You are in for a treat when you get to Foxland. In my opinion, it blows the other 18 away as far as layout. I was debating on joining there this year but kinda got scared off by the price as well as the fact that they closed down foxland at the end of last year and supposedly from what I heard, there were no carts on either course at that time either. So needless to say they have had their money issues.

Have you ever played Ravenwood? Is it nice?

No, I have never played there. If I remember from what I have heard that it's not that good of a course. But I could be wrong.
