Need Help with Taylormade R7 TP 15* 3 Wood Weights Setup

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and have found its vast amount of information very helpful. I just purchased a Taylormade R7 TP 15* 3 wood off of eBay and need some help from someone who knows how to set up the weight inserts in the club (I don't have the weight setup guide and tried to search the equipment forum with little success). The club currently has a 2-gram insert in the toe and a 14-gram one in the heel.

I usually hit all of my clubs fairly straight, so I would like to set this fairway wood to have a neutral flight bias. Which weight inserts should I put into the club? Two 6 or 8-gram weight inserts? Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

weight toward heel = draw
weight toward toe = fade

I'd say try a few weight combinations (even, 2gr heavy toe, 2g heavy heel) and see what works best for your swing. You can get those weights at the PGA Store for $8.00 or so... Pick up a few and do some testing. Always good for a club ho to have as many weights/clubs/gadgets as possible.

I agree, try it stock first before you start to change anything. These are generally straight hitting, but based on what shaft you got and how you swing will tell you better than us. Don't assume 8g and 8g will be straight. I have two and love them both.

I use 8g heel and 6g toe rather than 14/2. Worked well for me until I bought a different club. Still a great 3-wood though. Try it first, though. I'm always fighting a hook.

Wow, I had no idea that what's currently in the club is the stock setup. Seems counter-intuitive that it's set for a neutral flight. I will definitely go try it out first before changing things. Thanks for all your advice guys!

I could be mistaken, but I thought the r7 TP version came stock with 8g in the heel and 8g in the toe.?

My R7 TP came with a 14g (heel) and a 2g (toe)

I just found this old post about the R7 TP fairway woods. It looks like the club came with 4 weight cartridges: (1) 14-gram, (1) 2-gram, (2) 8-gram. It seems like the club was fitted with the 14-gram in the heel and 2-gram in the toe from the factory for a draw bias. You could switch those 2 weights around to get a fade bias, or install the 2 8-gram weights for a neutral bias. This would make more sense to me with the MWT flight adjustments. Thanks guys!
