Ever Happen To Any Of You Guys?!?

I Am Striking The Ball Unbelievably Sweet And Looong! And It's Not Just A Flukey Period It's My Takeaway... I've Been Trying To Get More Handsy And WOOOAH!

After Striking It So Good In The Tuesday Comp. I Went Out Later And Played Off The Tees That Were Further Back To Make It Easier For Next Tuesday! I Have Up And Downs From The Fringes Of Greens For Pars And I End Up Getting Bogeys And Doubles :yahoo:!!!!!!

It Must Be The Short Game....

Putter Is Gone STONE COLD along with pitching and chipping

Usually This Happens To Me Every So Often And It's Lack Of Confidence!

Will Write Again Tomorrow After My Round, I'm Gonna Think I Can Sink Anything And Pitc And Chip It Close!

short game is everything, make sure you practice short game as much as you do at the driving range

I actually spend more time on my short game, and it sure pays off, if you mess up your 2nd shot you have no worries because you will have so much confidence in your short game.

So next time you are planning to go to the range, go to the practice green

Go about 10 feet off the fringe, and try and get up and down, pretend up and down is par, and you have to make par.

You will gain so much confidence

Short game is key!

But every so often I'll notice that I'm striking the ball great but catching a lot of bad breaks, e.g. hit a bomb of the tee and the ball ends up in a divot. Or worse, hit a bomb on a dogleg and run out of fairway where you normally have 20 yards of room to spare.

If your ball striking is on fire but you're ending up in bad places you might just need to re-evaluate your club selections based on more distance and control.

But if you're just not scoring because your short game's not in sync with your ball striking than the key is obvious...get that short game in gear.

yes you need to hit greens to score, but with no short game, your round is bogus. work on your 15-20 footers and chipping. scores will drop. trust me.

Why do you capitalize the first letter of each word?

If your ball striking is good, then you should be hitting a lot of greens, if you are hitting a lot of greens and not scoring, then you need to work on your putting.

I was just going to say the same thing... why are the first letters of each word in capital letters? They're not all proper nouns.

Anyway, golf is a combination of all aspects of the game, not just full shots. In fact, full shots account for probably half to a third of all shots, around the green and pitches for around a third to a quarter and putting around a third. So work on all aspects of your game.

Also just my opinion, how are you supposed to take divots with any Callaway clubs? They have the biggest soles.

Oh And Forgot To Tell You Guys I Am Getting Wayyyyyyy More Confident Putting.

It Must Be My Confidence!

On The Putting Green At My Course I Had -4 For 9 Holes And Ended Up -3 After 18.

And All The Putts Are At Least 10 Feet. I Sank A 25 Footer, A 18 Footer And A Few Other Good Reads, I Was Just Thinking Make Everything!

My Chipping Has Got A Bit Better. I Was Right In Playing It Far Back With Weight And Hands Forward But I Was To Hit Down So I Kept Duffing It. ?@:~ im doing the capitalletters thing again!

My friend told me to try to sweep it off the back foot and you'll hit down on it, i was just trying to hit down on it too much!

When I was practicing chipping i found i used the sand wedge wayyyy too much.

I can hit low chips with a pw or sw by keeping the hands forward in the follow through.

And I can hit a medium height one with my normal technique.

I putt from the fringe using a length of stroke as if i were on the green but push the hands forward slightly before imake the stroke so i can get it past the fringe.

I can also get a load of check with a pw!

In the rough i use a sw unless its downhill, then i run it up with a pw.

I played this little game where i threw 5 balls around the green in random places and see how many out of 5 i could get up and down from.

1st time: 2/5

2nd time: 5/5

3rd time: 4/5

So I only need to work on my pitching now!

Sorry about not updating y'all on my round but i couldn't get out but i'm more than likely to get out tomorrow, the day before junior boys competition and then the next day juniors semi-open!

Actually, that kind of thing happens to me a LOT. I usually shoot in the high 70s and low 80s, but I very rarely have less than 30 putts. Even rounds with 30-32 putts don't come that often. To say it straight, my putting is s**t. I hit between 9 and 14 GIR per round, I hit between 6 and 10 fairways per round, but my putting leaves something to be desired. Just the other day I played 36 holes. I shot 81 both rounds. Morning round, I had 9/14 fairways, 11/18 greens and 35 putts. In the afternoon, I had 8/14 fairways, 12/18 greens, 32 putts. I love comparing myself to the pros; in GIR and fairways hit, there are pros that hit less than I do (40-something % of fairways compared to my 60 or so %, and 40-50% or so GIR, compared to my 55-60%), but when it comes to putting, I average about 32-33 putts per round, and the worst pro on tour has 30. something, and those are on tougher greens than what I play (tougher greens and fairways as well too though). It's obvious that I need to be a better putter. That's the truth for most players. I guess you included.

putting is all focus, if you bare down enough, you can easily 2 putt anything, and most likley make many 10 footers. Stike it pure, and putt pure

im long, im straight, i hit all my irons as pure as a nut, but wen it comes to getting up and down its hard for me! i can chip ok its just my putter! i have had it for well since i started golf, im like the left handed sergio!
