Greenbrier

Just booked a few nights at the Greenbrier in Sept.

 

Anything that shouldn't be missed?

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Make sure you check out the BUNKER under the hotel...it was built in the early mid 1900s and was a top secret underground bomb shelter for only the president and congress to go to when/if under a nuclear attack...some reporter discovered it in the 1990s and the government shut it down and opened it for the public...its really cool

Just got back this week from a trip - played Old White. Still had the risers and bleachers from the tour event. Greens were stressed from the tournament and were not in particularly good shape, inconsistent speeds with some burned out areas. Had to take a forecaddie, for a reason I have yet to figure out. Was not particularly helpful.

Take cash. Lots and lots of cash. The incidentals were probably the most expensive of any resort I have ever stayed at. Dinner at one of the casual restaurants for four burgers and soft drinks (no liquor) ran my friend $200.

Just was there for four days and old white is getting a little better. Most of the stands were down or almost down and only 4 6 and one or two other greens were not in the greatest shape there closing it early this year to fix up the greens.

We also played the meadows which was is ok shape the greenbrier was in the best shape out of the 3 though. The Snead was amazing and by far in the best shape, if you can get on there do it I played it twice and was glad I had the chance too.
