And another +1. Just did a visual comparison of the two models. Dimensionally, the JPX is longer heel to toe - a little more toward a GI iron. Soles are basically the same.

Since there are MX-300 owners looking, "what is the best way to remove the cavity labels while trying to preserve them for future use?"

Just an observation - I just removed the standard grips to lengthen the shafts a bit and install larger grips. I noticed Mizuno does not use grip tape. I have never heard of that before. What's up? Are the grips a tighter fit to avoid slipping?

You had me curious, so just did a quick check. On an MX300 I didn't find any tape, but did find what looked like a coating of some whitish stuff on the inner surface of the grip. Not sure what it is -- the grip solution I use is clear.

On an MX25, I encountered tape a couple of inches up from the grip.

To me, older generations of Miz irons always felt like they had a 'fuller' lower hand grip, like they added some tape. The 300s and the 800s seemed to get away from that, and I figured it had to do with the switch away from tour velvets to their M-21 (something that is to me a step back).

Another set would cost less I'm sure, but I can't find any new ones with my shaft. Since the 300's are discontinued, I figured I would buy the JPX 800 pro's and compare them this spring. Who knows, maybe the 300's will end up being the back-up set instead.

I just got the 800 pro's today. They look really good. Only four months to wait! ~SIGH~

I agree...I have been playing the300's for about 5 months and love them more and more after each round (switched from RAC OS and X20 Tours). I have not noticed the bevel causing thin shots on full swings but it does seem to affect my bump and runs.I found I have to open the face a touch with these.
