I live in Smyrna. I play Old Fort and Cedar Crest alot. Love Forrest Crossing and Legacy of Springfield. Haven't gotten out to Greystone or Kings Creek yet. No official handicap but shoot in the mid 80's most rounds.
Never actually heard anyone say they 'love forrest crossing'...Legacy is a great layout but as it is with Kings Creek, the lack of high quality play and a lower maintenance budget hasn't kept up with the intent of the original course design. There is an article quoting Palmer after playing Kings Creek after it opened for a couple years, saying "if he knew it was going to turn into this, I wouldn't have put my name on it" - though I will say they have one of the best woman teaching pro's especially if you are a lady wanting lessons - can't do better in Tennessee.

I play with a group and we are looking to add some players. Currently have 5 guys and could use a few more. We play Old Fort(best value in Mid-TN),Indian Hills,Henry Horton, and Willowbrook. A new course will be opening off of 840 and Nolensville rd exit called Mystic Ridge in the Spring of 2012. It was supposed to open this summer but Nicklaus Golf took it over and wanted to make some tweaks. Hopefully, the new course will be public and green fees will be under $50.00. PM me and we can talk about joining our group. We just have a good time and do not play for $$. Have a slot open at Old Fort on Sunday. Let me know. Thank you

Mystic ridge is to stay a daily fee course with memberships optional like alot of courses around here now. It would die the same way as Fairview Plantation and many other private clubs which are dependent on homes selling around it if it was completely private. Smart move now hopefully it will have decent membership prices! Look forward to another good daily fee course, there are not many around town - at least not as many choices as I'm used to having before I moved to Nashville.

I am in Murfreesboro and play to a 9 handicap. I play courses all over, Legacy, Old Fort last week, Horton-love, WestHaven CC-best ever, Indian Hills-hate, Old Hickory CC, Bear Trace Tims Ford - once a year, and Smyrna Muni since I get it for free. Live 2 min from Cedar Crest so I play it a lot- great place

I aam here too fellas. I too live in Smyrna but play all over. I try and grab afternoon rounds at Smyrna Muni and old fort, but play wherever I can. Hermitage, old Natchez cc, and Forrest crossings is where I play most outside of the local track.

I shoot in the low to mid 80sI

Alandennis,

If you want, PM me and we can get you in our groups. We generally play on Saturdays and Sundays in the Murfreesboro area(Old Fort,Cedar Crest,Indian Hills,HHorton, etc). We always seem to have 5-7 people so we could surely add a person. We just have good fun and comrardarie. No $$ games in our group. I play to about a 7 - 8 hcp right now and most of our group goes from Mid 70's to low 90's.

What's up fellas! I am from the Smyrna area as well, actually just 2 miles from Smyrna Municipal. I just ran across this site the other day. I just got back into the game this year after several years away from the game. For my 40th birthday this year, I treated myself to a new set of irons....LOL! I needed something a little more forgiving compared to my old TA3's.
I am still in the process of getting my game back. I normally shoot in the range of 85-91, sometimes lower and sometimes higher. But now too bad of a golfer. Normally will blow up on a few holes. I play alot on fridays, and will usually get another 9 or 18 holes in on saturday or sunday. I play Smyrna, Cedar Crest and Pine Creek alot. I would like to play other courses, but don't like showing up as a single. I know its almost too late in the season but I thought I would throw my name into the hat. PM me if interested.

Hey, I live in Spring Hill/Thompsons Station and just thought I'd see if any of you have heard anything new about the Greg Norman course right off 840? I noticed they are finally working on it again after a couple years of it being idle. I've heard it's going to open but no details that I can find.
Same here, no details though. Hope the other one (Stillwater) opens as well. I heard '12 open. We'll see.

I think Mystic Ridge is all but dead based on what I saw when I drove by a couple weeks ago. The Grove (I think that's the name of the Norman course) is looking really good but unfortunately I stopped by there and found out they are going to start off totally exclusive to members of their residential community. If you own a lot, you are a member. If you don't own property, no membership options...certainly no daily fees. My guess is that won't last long. The course looked great though.

If that really is The Grove's business model - it's a nice recipe for bankruptcy.
