Tour Edge Exotics CB3 Fairways ROCK...

But what about the DRIVER?
Reviews everywhere rave about the Tour Edge Exotics fairway woods.... most agree these are superb sticks and noticeably longer than others.

On Tour, players such as Matt Kuchar, Luke Donald and Kevin Steelman are using the Exotics fairway woods.

But my question is about the DRIVER. It looks as good as the fairway clubs but since Tour Edge pays no "tee up" money on Tour, there's probably nobody using it professionally.

Still, it's got the same pedigree -- does ANYONE have a report on the driver?

UMMMMMM..it freaking rocks too! Simple head design and an excellent shaft in it that is the REAL thing and not a watered down version. Also, it is guaranteed longer than your current driver(s). Couple that with a lifetime warranty, and it is one of the best out there. The fly off the shelf in our store, just like the fairways and hybrids. A good buy, IMO.

I play the cb3 driver, 10 degrees stock stiff white shaft. Tried the xcg3 driver as well and liked this one better. Hot face, good spin rate. For me plays higher to loft than my d2 10.5.

Really like the xcg3 4 wood. Hits as far as any 3 wood and first fairway wood that I hit well off the fairway.

I love my XCG3 4 wood, i was gonna buy the driver too. Is the CB3 better than the XCG3?

Not "better," I'm guessing, just different. According to the Tour Edge website the CB3 has a smaller head (170cc vs. 190cc in the XCG3.) A smaller head seems to promote "workability" i.e. draws and fades, might hit it a little lower, etc.... more of a "players" club, whatever that means. I think it's merely a matter of personal preference.

Ben,

For the past few years I wrote David Glod and the folks at Tour Edge about making a 400cc driver head as I have adored the CB1's and 2's since their inception. To say I was stoked when the CB3 Tour Driver debuted this year is an understatement. I tried it with the stock Motore shaft and it was a dud. I re-shafted it with a Motore-Speeder 7.1, not really impressed. I've tried it with a 12 different shafts, namely Fubuki, Whiteboard, 757, 660TR, Altus, and some older shafts. The 660 was the best shaft for me and made it a good driver but I'm kicking the hell out of it with a Diablo Edge Tour and my J33-R. I've compared it next to a 400cc NP-1 and the Nak works and sounds significantly better. I may have a dead head because that's exactly how it feels compared to the CB2 FW's I'm bagging. Not the sharp a**-kicking sound I was expecting from T.E. I'd send it back but of course the warranty is void once you pull their shaft. No one wanted to love this club more than me but the honeymoon is definitely over.

The 460cc drivers are above average and are worthy of consideration.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.
