Project X Driver/Fairway shafts

if your 6.0 in irons are you 6.0 in driver?
I have project x 6.0 in my irons and was getting fitted for a titleist 910 and noticed the project x shaft was 6.0. if you are 6.0 in the irons is it safe to assume you are 6.0 in the woods?

Depends on your swing, but do you often find yourself swinging your driver with an iron swing? You'll likely go up in flex. But if getting fitted, hit everything and anything they throw at you and go with that if the numbers are good.

On my chart that came directly from True Temper, it says:

Project X 6.0 iron = between PX 6.0 and 6.5 graphite wood shaft

Project X FLIGHTED 6.0 iron = between PX 5.5 and 6.0 graphite wood shaft

So, since it is between, I strongly suggest you get fitted by a qualified / knowledgeable fitter so launch/spin/swing can all be taken into account to suggest th right flex.

I agree with setter02, it depends on how you load it. Personally, I use 5.5 in my irons and have the 6.0 in my 910D3. I also use a X stiff in my 3 wood, so I'm kind of weird, I guess. Just get on a launch monitor with the driver, and it will tell you what is best.

Not really. I know a few guys who play softer woods (stiff) then irons and wedges (X100). Everyone is different, and that's half the fun of the game.

my swing with a 6 iron is 85MPH with smooth tempo and i was in between 5.5 and 6.0. i have a set with 5.5 that i like better then the 6.0. with the driver i swing around 100 and demoed the 6.0 stock shaft in the Titleist 910 and loved it. so i was wondering if i should demo the 5.5 and 6.5 in the project x driver shaft or not even bother. the problem is that the only project x shaft they had for the driver was the 6.0 so i dont know where that leads me.

quick question.

Does the flighted PX shaft play weaker in flex than the standard PX - and if so how much - any rule of thumb?

Oh, ok. Playing the 6.0 in irons wasn't necessarily the best fit then.. 6.0 in the driver will be great for you! No need to get something special, go pick it off the rack! partytime2.gif

thanks for the info. do you have any information on the difference between the project x 6.0 driver shaft and the project x tour shaft> i tried out the project x in the titleist 910 and was wondering which one it was. are they that different?

The project x in the 910 is the tour issue shaft. It will have a combo of number and letter for weight class and flex. I thought the tour issue PX in the 910 felt way better than the PX that was in the nike vr tour from last year.

i hit the 910 yesterday and found the project x to be the best shaft for me. it felt much better then the kaali, ahaina, and RIP. my numbers were much better and dispersion was much tighter. i guess going with a tour issue shaft is better then going with a made for shaft
