What do you guys think of the Nike Ignite 460?

Considering swapping for my 905S

What do you guys think of the 460? I've got until tomorrow afternoon to decide.

The 905S is fine, but I'd like some more forgivness.

I can pretty much do an even swap of my 8.5* 905S for a 9.5* 460 with the same shaft, maybe an extra $10. While it would obviously be cheaper for me to sell the 905S and buy the 460 online, I've having trouble with that :drinks:.

Ill reply since it's 114* here in the bay and there is no way Im playing in that heat :drinks:. I was going to buy an ignite before I bought my G2. I really like the driver alot. It has great feel, distance, control and accuracy of course if you have the right shaft. I was comming from a 983K and wanted a little more forgiveness like yourself. While I think the 905S is a great driver, there are definately more forgiving drivers on the market (like the ignite) that will provide all the 905 does with the extra forgiveness. Also to note if the ignite doesnt work out as well has you had planned, you can get a 905S on ebay fairly cheap. Hope this helps you a little with your decision!

I had the Ignite 460 in 10.5º. Great head. Definitely an anti-left driver. It has a fairly good headweight to it as well, so beware shafts playing weak in the Ignite. Even though it's the same shaft, it might play totally different. I never really cared for the sound of the Ignite, but the performance was certainly there.

The person trading you for the 905S is definitely getting the better end of the deal from a purely financial aspect. They should be paying YOU. I hope that's what you meant.

Actually, it's a trade at 2nd swing. While I could theoretically sell the 905S for $150 and pick up an Ignite or $100, it's an extreme improbability.

Just try to be patient. There's something in the air of late and nobody's buying anything right now. Must be the moon cycle right now or something. I've been trying to sell a $600 set of new irons for $280 and still no one will bite. :drinks:

 

$150 for a 905S is a helluva deal. Somebody's gotta bite! ;)

The Ignite is a great driver. One of my favorites of all time. Very close to me to my SQ tour and still my #1 backup driver. You can't go wrong. Thats just my opinion.

Wrong. The new Ignite is basically a restyled NDS driver in a way. Doesn't have the NextTi over the crown technology. Stick with the original for sure.

I never got use to the Nike Ignite. For some reason I just couldnt it, it would always hook. So for me i got a negative experience out of it.

Wow, i'm in pretty much the exact same position as you. I'm looking for a 460 driver for my dad (so I don't outdrive him every time we play) instead of his r510. Tough decision though...

im playing the ignite 460 10.5 with graphite design ys6 and love it. i cant make myself try anything else. well i did and it wasn't becoming of my bag. LOVE the IGNITE 460. give it a rip

As an owner of an Ignite myself, I'd say it's a pretty good club.

 

... but I've also been checking pricing on the "eBay index" cuz I'm looking to get rid of mine and I'm sure noticing that the prices on these have come down quite a bit.

 

I wouldn't trade your Titleist straight across. You'll probably be able to get a good deal on one if you're just patient.

 

My $0.02 anyways...
